:@:(Horrific Habbox Meltdown:(:O
Habbox Fans, Habbox Staff, Habbo Public. I feel it is time that I spoke up for those original Habbox Fans! Habbox is changing and it is taking with it, years of history. I ask you Habbox, please dont take away the article management system, do not take away the many features that make Habbox...Habbox. I ask all Habbox Staff is there anyway to protest against the changes. Afterall this is a fansite made for the public, and though the demand for articles is down I believe the way to solve that problem is to use a different strategy. Use different ways of presenting articles, if your struggling for staff I will write all your articles, for free, Ill write them all and send them in just so we can continue to help those Habbos that really want Habbox to remain "the best".
Habbox Fans, Can we have our own voice, can we make Habbox Officials change there minds?? In the words of Barak Obama....
Yes We Can!!!!

If there's no demand for articles, then why should Habbox go through the effort to do articles? Habbox are listening to us, hence why they're getting rid of them.

As said above, the need for article is not their no more and obviously has not been for some time which is why they decided to close it. Their will still be good articles and content posted as the current Articles staff have been offered jobs in the Content Design department. I think this compensates for the loss of the Articles Department.

Habbonade? Habbox isn't some poxy fansite; it gets thousands of hits and has a massive community with tons of staff. Site management know what they're doing.

Articles were always a bit dull? Maybe if they lightened up and got a rename and revamp we would use them?
But until then, keep them gone!

What's the point keeping something broken/unused? Although the Articles section is an old part of Habbox, it's not really that popular and it does seem to be proving itself a waste of time.
Also, Habbonade is unfamous and unpopular compared to Habbox. Habbox has it's super weapon, the forum, to keep it alive ;)

Don't you understand though we have done what you are asking and expressed our views in the most effective way possible.
By no-one being interested or viewing the articles, that itself shows Habbox officials exactly what it is we are looking for.
Do you seriosuly think anyone will want to go to habbox homepage just to read ALL articles posted by you? I am a very experienced article writer myself, and as I have worked on here for a good few years now and saw Habbox evolve I really must agree that articles is something that has went gradually downhill.
However, this is through no fault of any staff and for you to suggest that habbox should just work on it and make it better is ludicrous - as that is all that has been happening for months and I have even contributed to trying to aid the process.
Articles is clearly an area that the current generation of habbox users are no longer interested in. The articles era is most definitely over, and habbox is a much more focused site segmented into more defined areas such as the rares and this forum itself.
Surely you cannto disagree that it is much more effective if habbox effectively utilises the staff resources they have and allow the previous articles staff to contribute to the website in much more hitting ways - rather than wasting their own personal time and energy that no-one, bar you it seems, are interested in.

I second that!

Exactly. As the Top-rated fansite by Habbo, Habbox has to keep pleasing and by doing that we need the staff to be focusing their work on things which keep people with Habbox. Articles - Nobody really read them, people weren't coming to the site to read articles. They were coming to view guides, check out rare values, listen to the radio etc.
So articles closed and as nvrspk4 said, it was for the best.
The articles staff can now focus on other Habbox stuff. :)

Habbox is going on to bigger and better things if such things as articles were highly active then im sure we would still have them but Habbox users simply do not use it enough for it to stay so that isn't the managments fault, its ours for not being interested in that area and others enough.

Please, do give me some reasoning behind that. I would love to hear the reasons for that absolutely unfounded statement.

I have been a member of Habbox since 2005 and have never ever read any of its articles so I have chosen not to 'speak out' with you :)

Some of the articles were wicked, especially ostinato teen life articles. I think Alex tried to revive them but there was a lack of interest, good decision to discontinue it when nobody actually read them really lol.
Inseriousity.

As a previous staff member of the articles department, I can say that it was probably for the best. Ideas to revamp the department, such as video reviews, never really took off. I've worked for many sites and there was one where I was Articles Manager (HabboNation - was official CA site at one point so it wasn't unpopular). Articles were removed there too because the truth is, not many people are interested in articles anymore.
However, I do believe that Professor-Alex is now something called the 'Submissions Manager' and you can submit articles to him via PM. This is just a 'branch' of the content department.
On a lighter note, I think you should start writing more speeches. Very inspiring.
The departments that were gotten rid of weren't popular anymore which is why it happened.
The Management do whats in habbox's best interests.

They are obviously doing it for the best and I can see that, they aren't going to come along and ruin the forum that they run are they? I think nvr would have to be a little mad, the reason the articles department failed was because no one in the that department could really be bothered you got the odd one or two people who could, when I worked that early on in the year you had a Senior Writer who was dedicated and maybe 2/3 writers out of 6/7 so you see where I am coming from?
I think that all the department, staff and forum changes happening are for the best and management are starting to listen to what is going on around them and what is being suggested, like it should be, in my opinion over the last 6 months Habbox has improved massively and in my eyes its mainly down to nvrspk getting on with it and actually making changes and improving the site. Lets not forgot all the other AGMs and Mr.OSH who have a lot to do with this as well. Like I said, management is at its best at the moment in my opinion.
Over and out ;)
