Good change back, the spilt was a good idea but the general manager became more of a forum manager. I hope this means that P-A will be given a free lease to do as he wishes with the forum because maybe it's just me not noticing it but I haven't noticed any forum changes in ages and I think some are needed with the closure of particular forums which aren't needed. Also, a forum manager should surely "tidy up" the forum. There are so many stickied threads that are out dated and just need to be removed or kept up-to-date, preferably the latter as I did find some of the stickied threads useful but now nobody keeps on top of them.

Im sure one of the jobs that community support were doing at first was sorting through the stickied threads or at least at the start with rosie anyway, hopefully there will be more forum changes yeah would be good.

That is correct but we were never actually given the powers to do anything :P so yeah, switching back to (A)FM is a far better step in my view

It's annoying because some people spent ages keeping stickied threads up to date. I know I spent hours trying to update ones in Anything about Trading & Furni and now I see them dead. I find them quite useful too.

If I'm correct the stickies in anything about trading & furni are the responsibility of the RV dept and the trading experts, so its best to get onto them about that :) If you have links to other stickies that need reviewing feel free to post/pm me them and I'll take a look.

But in answer to the original post, yeah that does mean I can do the smaller changes so if you had anything in mind feel free to suggest :)

Trade experts lost that right ages ago when one resigned and went a bit crazy :P I did contact the RVR dept about them but to no avail because none of them have/are allowed moderation rights in the anything about trading and furni forum.

I was going to say, we never was given any sort of moderations powers (when I was TE).

When I was a RVR I had moderation powers in that section as well as ''report rare values'' so I am sure it could be given back to HRVR's?
Not as a RVR but as a moderator, but I am sure it could be given to HRVR's?

Maybe if the Manager was to be given moderation rights in there and he can just get his staff to do it and send it to him via PM. I'm sure / I hope the manager is trusted enough to update the threads, lol.

Even when I was HRVR (less than a month ago), no one had this power ;)

Mhm, I remember that. I spent a while updating threads in there when I was a TE although I didn't know they'd had those powers removed!

It's a good move by management in my opinion - I never really agreed with the initial move from FM to CM/MM so I'm happy that they've reverted the decision. It also became quite apparent that Alex and Matt didn't get much of a say in anything whereas previous Forum Managers did so I hope this change will give them more freedom. I thought they were both great managers when I worked under them so I know they'll do well.
