First of all, why aren't Post Your threads allowed in the Spam Forum, they're closed yet the reason they're not allowed is post-count increases and spamming, which doesn't apply to the spam forum so nor should the Post Your rule.
And also there's been lots of 'Awards' threads recently, especially in the gaming section, if people aren't allowed 'Post your car', 'Post your Anti-Virus', 'Post your Mail Provider', 'Post your dictionary definition', then why are all these awards threads allowed, they're simply a version of 'Post your favourite game'.
Get rid of the rule or treat everything equally, and I'd like to agree with GommeInc's recent complaint on the matter too: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=549875
Feel free to Post Your opinion below.

Near enough every thread on the forum is a "Post your" thread, it's the point of a forum.. just not everyone puts "Post your x, y and z".
Bit of a silly rule in the first place, why not get rid of it but keep it in moderation..

I agree, it should be at least allowed in spam!

I have to agree sorry. I think post yours should be allowed but if people spam and abuse them then close them. It will soon teach people that if they spam it then they loose the privilege to use them.
EDIT: as far as i am aware post your threads are aloud in spam. PM me or post the link and i will re open it for you :).

I think the rule is ******* ridiculous, it's a rule that was made for the sake of making a rule. I'm sorry but a 'Which mail provider do you use' poll is NOT a post your thread, the person was just asking who used which mail provider, is the person who made this rule ******* dumb or something? This is a forum fgs where people talk, I don't see why this rule is needed, who cares if peoples post count increase that's the point. Each post you make increases your count, plus half the people on this forum don't care about post count unless they're noobs or just god damn ignorant. Get rid of this stupid ******* rule ***.

Swearing and going off in a paddy wont do anything if anything it will make us not remove the rule as you cant be trusted to behave.
The reason they were closed was due to spam. Now this was valid there were alot but i reckon if we allow them now people know what will happen if they abuse them and hopefully should not abuse them.

LOL??? Can't behave? Sorry but I'm hardly going off on a rampage, I swore a couple of times cos I think the way this forum is being run is pathetic. Yes you all do a good job but you need to seriously think about rules before you make them in future. Take the rule away and if any post your threads are made and turned into spam, close them, otherwise, leave them alone.
Also, back the behave point, this isn't a school or a prison, it's a forum for discussions and I'm not going to be told I'm not trusted to behave by somebody I don't know, you can't stop me from doing jack ****, sorry but that was a proper stupid thing to say.

I never knew about this, and in spam the only thread which was closed for that reason is yourn Jordy, which was a bit pointless. But ye I dont know why this rule is here in spam.
I think this rule's a tiny bit over the top too...
I can understand people spamming in them, but meh... like "post your opinion on chocolate" -that's fine imo?

orly? how ridiculous... ugh, if I'd of got temp banned for such a stupid thing I'd of left the forum cos tbh I wouldn't want to be on a forum with mods that were pathetic enough to ban you for something so stupid. Bans should only be given when people cause serious disruption to the forum and spam everywhere and argue all the time.. not for silly little things like this. It's like arresting someone for talking about something.

I don't understand just about any thread could in some way be seen as a 'post your' thread... for example when I posted this thread:

I went to see this today it was quite good Jim Carrey did look rather old though . I was wondering if anyone else is planning to or has seen it and what you thought of it .
Yeah if you've never heard of it >> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_Man_(film)

Yes but the fact it isn't a post your thread means that I didn't even have this thread in mind when posting it. So, when it's knowledge it is impossible for you to be certain of, yes, I will question it :)

My thoughts exactly. All threads are based around opinions and what's going on in your life. Coincidently, a forum like this exists for exactly those reasons! "Post" your" threads should only be closed when they're a bit pointless and don't really strike a discussion e.g. "What are you having for dinner?" It'll be abused due to the topic only really lasting a day, but then again, that's not even a good reason to close those threads.

This rule was created for a specific reason, in response to complaints. There were "Post Your" threads like Post Your Banks thread. Many "Post Your" threads were fairly pointless. It appears that when creating the rules we were fairly shortsighted. It included many things that we didn't intend to include.
I want to stress, however, that there is a way to do things, and certain people seem to be really freakin bad at it. The one who actually sparked discussion was GommeInc who made good points in the appropriate form. Even the thread starter was fairly good with his comments. But two users in particular stand out as the reasons things don't get done but instead get mired into defensive arguments.
There won't really be a rule, we will simply reserve the right to close threads we feel are pointless. Simply because there is no rule that can replace the judgement necessary. Apparently Moderators have interpreted Post Your threads to be a much wider category than originally intended, and that's not necessarily their fault. I've had a lot to look at as our focus has been Christmas and overhauling Habbox so I didn't pay as much attention to the effect of this as I should have. This is one place where the Forum Manager will come in handy, without me there was nobody to really look hard at this rule and its effects in the forums, but now the FMs will be able to.

So will members have to re-create threads that had a point to them? It seems a bit of a waste... Could moderators start re-opening recently closed threads, if members argue their point for why the thread was useful and interesting or should the moderators have the final judgement, because there are some interesting threads I can think of :P
What would the best way to go about asking for such threads to be re-opened, or would it be wise not to as of yet?
