Hi there,

A lot of threads seem to break out into people posting their speedtest.net results, so I'd like everyone to post theirs here, I find it pretty interesting seeing how much the speeds vary.

Please post-

Normally sync at 12 MB and normally stream at around 11MB but for some reason it wasn't as good is it normally is, probably speedtest.net's fault, not very reliable for finding your true speed.

With data transferee, its Megabit not megabyte.

1 megabit = 128 Kilobyte
8 megabit = 1 Megabyte

So when they say 8Mb, you only get 1MB.

Where I live, were only allowed one ISP, unless we paid for a BT Line to be fitted, but the nearest BT exchange is miles away, so it would't solve anything.

There are Kilo Bytes and kilo bits I think, speed test shows kb and your d/l speed is KB.

No, for each meg is around 100kb/s on a download. So and 8 meg speed would be around 750-800KB/s download. Easy mistake to make.

i get around 300-500kb/s max on rapidshare downloads and im on 8meg and get around 6meg so i'm not too fussed, it seems right for me..

i always thought that kb/s on download mean the same as d/l speed on speedtest and that lol

No they are good for speed + download limits but when it comes to them actually finding the server the website you are trying to access is, it takes ages, but once it's found it it's blazing fast. Really annoying tbh.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Ask on the forum, use broadband comparison websites, search for broadband reviews. I'm with TalkTalk and it's free (cos we got it when that deal was on like 3 years ago) and it's amazing. Never traffic or anything, always get the max I can in my area. Do I really have to reword this to make you able to understand. Look for Virgin Media reviews, barely any bad ones unless you look deeper, its going to be the same with every isp in the country. Don't you think i've looked before? You really think I'm that dunce do you? Well for your info I am not and it ain't exactly easy to look for a new isp at a ******* 30kbps!

Well you don't seem to be having any problems posting here, and I know for a fact there are loads of bad reviews about loads of ISP's. Your best bet is to ask friends and forums for reviews and recommendations. It doesn't take a genius

Even though mine's only 1MB, I do get that almost all the time if not a little bit more.

I am using 5mbps internet connection.My speed test results: Upload speed : 1.2Mbps Download speed : 4.8Mbps
Normally, upload speed should be one-fourth of the download speed.I have checked out my broadband speed test at Scanmyspeed.com (http://www.scanmyspeed.com/)
