God gave us hands, and he wants us to play with these things called video-games. But this year, we got quite a big dose of disappointment, take a look at these five games... and 3 (MAYBES) and make your decision!
Mirror's Edge

Reason: A 'parkour' experience fell flat on it's face, promising a huge experience and only time trials etc etc. It fell flat on its face with flash animated and cheap cutscenes, a story nobody wanted to even care about, only seven hours of play (on average) and quite a buggy experience.
Haze

Reason: We were promised the best multiplayer experience on the PS3, and it was Free Radical for gods sake! Buggy graphics, a storyline that was... not a storyline at all, the averagely buggy vehicle sections and a general unbalanced gameplay led this to be one of the worst AND disappointing games of the year
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
http://xbox360.gaming-universe.de/screens/boxart_us_star-wars-the-force-unleashed.jpg
Reason: It promised BIG BIG BIG, but the whole 'real star wars experience' was crushed by it's simple lack of everything, I don't even have to go into detail about this, it's just a poor effort in every department. I also looked foward to having the stereotypical hot girl to relate to as the 'love interest'... e.g: 'u girl, i luf u'
Spore
http://www.ripten.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/spore-box-art-final.jpg
Reason: The thing with Will Wright is that he's too good for us, four years after the last great Sims, we all saw the Wright slip away from our Radar, and now we can all safely say - his latest game sucks **** through a straw. It trips over it's ambition... a bit like Fable... and even turned childish and drawn out.
Alone In The Dark

Reason: As a Australian fella said, there was potential for true greatness here - but it was dashed down by the fault storytime, camera views, the whole INVENTORY thing and just about every tedious minigame thrown in for good measure. I played the PS3 version last week... and then put it down after five minutes...
The Maybes
These are the games that I think fail, or failed ... or maybe just fell an inch... please do beware - that some of these will actually be in the ULTIMATE GAME OF THE YEAR list, they're just all a bit... shallow though.
Grand Theft Auto IV
http://www.digitalgypsy.com/vfxlog/uploadedfiles/gta4boxart-thumb-400x502.jpg
Reason: Because I said so, and because that it really just wasn't GTA IV, to quote myself ''it's a GTA clone... it's copying itself...", it took itself too serious and is it just me or does the whole fun aspect of GTA IV suddenly vanish, the moment your vitural phone rings, and your vitural cousin wants you to drive him to the vitural bar... hmmm...
Army Of Two
http://www.keenandgraev.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/ao2box.jpg
Reason: It promised little, but it didn't deliver enough. It was said that it would be ''one of the best co-operative experiences'', but it was quickly dashed by bugs, annoying voices and some... homosexual hints... THERE I SAID IT! It just seems like you can take a nuclear warhead to the head and your AI buddy will just revive you OR you can just carry on merrily, no need for another dude methinks.
Call of Duty: World At War
http://gamextract.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/wotldatwar-boxart.jpg
Reason: I love it, but you all hate it - going back to World War II seemed a step back too far for most of you, but what the buck right... ok I'll admit I haven't been online for a month and Veteran is as easy as hell... it is quite disappointing actually...
