SAM 2 Download + Helpp

I'm struggling to find a download, and if I find one it says I need MySQL

I've used SAM with MySQL before, but i've simply forgot what you do when you download MySQL, do you run the "Command line" then download SAM 2. Cos' it says if I don't download MySQL there might be errors or something.

Well if your not using the mysql for anything else, uninstall, download sam 2 run the installation and it should install it and get it running for you.

Hmm, have you tried leaving the fields blank?
Because you can edit them after I believe.
Try that.

Off topic: Be carful using frostwire, you have to share all your files, and it makes you more liable to get caught, currently you are sharing 22 files

I am having the same problem. And now whatever version i try they all seem to error after i select firebird etc..

I think sometimes you can ignore it and set it up later.
Otherwise just select something.

Have you entered one?
Because on the bit before where you do all the passwords and stuff, leave it blank.

When i run the download, i get to specifiy custom or standards settings or something like that.

I then click next getting:

'Unable to connect to database. Please make sure the database is properly installed and running. Also please make suer your database login details are correct'

I then click ok, brining up a login an diffirent fields.

I think you can leave this blank.
There should be an option to use different MySQL thingies.
And yes, you can make up your own password *me thinks*.

Have you tried clicking on "use default settings"?
Because that would skip that stage I thinks.
I think that will fill in most stuff, try that then take a screenie of what you get. *seeing how i un-installed SAM lol*

Right now try "local server", it won't come up with those fields I think.

Just about to say that, try using firebird

I have tried all the options with the mysql one. And no to above and above, i was having problems with firebird as it would not let me complete the download process.

Hm, i remember the first time i downloaded it MYSQL wouldnt work for me during installation so i used fyrebird, now mysql works and fyrebird dont. Isnt there 3 databases you can use?

By using the Sam 2 downlaod from earlier in the thread;

Firebird > Fails to find some 'Intsv' file or other
Mysql > Wnats details for some server
ProtegeSQL > Not tried
MS SQL > Not tried.

if it was on a SAM2 download link it should be that, use the same code as I said in this thread

What database did you install the last one with? :P

The very first time i installed sam MYSQL wouldnt work so had to use fyrebird, but every other time now mysql has worked :P

The first times i ever used it i was using Firebird. However, that never seems to work with any Sam download anymore and the rest are confusing or require other things for it.

Mysql is in the isntaller so use that first it should work, works fine for me :)

When you say ages, how long realistically. Shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes for the whole setup.
