Hey,

Well after seeing whats been happening with uploadpicz i have came up with another idear, why not just get rid of uploadpicz.

My Reason:

1) The space it uses on server could be used elsewhere or maby be anuf to downgrade to a less expensive server therfor saving habbox money which they need as they cnt sell vip anymore.

2) No offense to jin here but no1 is really experienced with it so when something goes wrong, no-one knows how to fix it, if you picked an offical uploaded (sumin like TehUpload) you would have someone who knows what they are doing to help you, and if the site went down for some reason, you wouldnt be held responsable and wouldnt have threads asking why its down and moaning.

My suggestion is get rid of it, appoint an offical habbox upload site which you could work along side with, (getting you and them more bussiness) and save so much money from the server space it takes up.

What does anyone else think? Anyone agree, or disagree?

okay i undertsand what you mean, but the time it goes down and is fixed and comes back off would be less, and they have the experience with working with it, if you understand what i mean and its easier for them to locate and fix the problem than would be for habbox, as seen atm. Also the space it takes up would save habbox server costs.

Reason i said sumin like TehUpload was becuase you would want one you can work close communication with.

i think i'm to blame for the rare value images going missing because i always put them on uploadpicz because nobody would ever put them on the server for me that's what happens when you take shortcuts!!

I feel its a good idea obviously for the uploader to be on Habbox's sever but on the other hand its obviously putting strain on Jin and any other member who has attempted to fix uploadpicz, Surely it would be abetter idea just to allow Caleb's tehupload to be the offical uploader. Although they think 'we dont own it' 'We can't control the site' Its such a better idea tho its not even been down i dont think?

Agreed. And Jin certainly does know what he is doing but he is extremely busy with other things aswell :P

I didnt mean he doesnt know what he is doing, becuase i know he does. i just ment the other person would have more experience in what they are doing and it would be easier. :P

Just be patient, if you're missing UploadPicz so much that you're having withdrawal symptoms, maybe you should see a specialist. It's just a very small image host - there are bigger giants out there - ImageShack, TinyPic and Photobucket just to name three.

I disagree completely. I used UploadPicz all the time because it was so much more simple then the mainstream ones. Jin is more than capable at running something like UploadPicz, so there's no need at all for someone else. When the servers go down or whatever, it's the server that's the problem, not the upload site. I like UploadPicz being part of Habbox and think it should stay.

I think Habboupload is the easiest uploader tbh. TehUploader doesnt let me and some of my friend even upload, and it takes FOREVER. So, if anything replaces UploadPicz, it should be Habboupload (you could possibly link with them)

As Xarea said, we wouldn't be able to control what is on the site or anything like that and as we are an official fansite taking risks like that would just be silly IMO :P

I don't think it will be too long until UploadPicz is fixed so it's not a problem really?

I'm pretty sure Jin is able to handle it. I have no idea where you're getting your facts from. Just because it's taking some time to fix this doesn't mean Jin can't handle it.

Why not just have a habbox.com uploader for news and site staff? The only risk is when you hire the wrong staff. TehUploads is quite popular and non-staff people can use it. There doesn't really seem a point behind uploadpicz, other than for news reporters and staff. But thena gain I don't know the facts or figures.

That doesn't say he can't handle it? He's saying that when something goes wrong, it takes a little time to fix. If he said Jin couldn't handle it, he would of said something along the lines of "it doesn't get fixed" or "Jin knows nothing." I thought when he said he wasn't experienced, no one knows how to fix it, and if someone else did it that knows what they're doing you'd have someone that knows what they're doing, he was basically saying Jin didn't know what he was doing A.K.A cannot handle it.....

Yes UP isn't the best but its free, no ads, pretty quick and its owned and evolved around Habbox and its forum. Just because its down due to a unknown error which will eventually be sorted no doubt, doesn't me we should scrap it. Nothing is plain sailing and you cannot give up after a hiccup or two.

In my opinion this thread fails.

People like you make others not post idears, Your one of the biggest ********* on this forum in my opinion, you do this all time, if you dont like something someone says u ither start being rude to them, insult them or try to cause arguments, people like you should just go *****g kill themselfs, the whole place you be better off.

This is last *****g time i bother posting suggestions to help habbox when all you get if a bunch of *****g ********s whole insult u and make arguments out of it when we r just trying to do our bit to help.

UploadPicz is funded and backed by Habbox, so it will not go down until Habbox goes down (unless demand for the site is too low to keep it online). If they were to name 'TehUpload' as the official uploader, they would have no control over the server, if TehUpload went down they would have to wait for Caleb to fix it, if TehUpload caused offence in some way to it's users, people may claim HabboxForum reponsible for the offence, etc.

Overall, it's a bad idea to switch Uploadpicz to another uploading site.

Saying this thread fails, isnt helping feedback on the idear at all and i find it insulting the way he phrashed it.

And turning round and saying to me "if you think you can do better you set up a site and do it" is insulting to me, i was suggesting an idear, at any time i never said i could do better, i never said the service was rubbish like he is implying, saying both them things to people who are only suggesting things to TRY to make habbox best by gigivng suggestions is unfair and just puts others from suggestions fearing they might get the same reply.

Thank you, the first person who actually gave actual feedback on the idea, after reading that i do understand yours and others points a bit more over control and how habbox could end up being caught up in things.
