As I'm a wrestling fan, my attention was drawn to a movie poster on a bus stop earlier, with huge letters advertising 'The Wrestler'. The plot line is "A drama centered on retired professional wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson as he makes his way through the independent circuit, trying to get back in the game for one final showdown with his former rival." It sounds quite good, is anybody else going to see this when it comes out? It's in the cinemas on January 16th.

Loved this film, watched it last week as its not in any local cinemas.

I dont think the average 'WWE fan' will like it as it is rather public with the whole 'wrestlings fake' is very public, where as Wayne and Craig are educated Wrestling fans, so they will enjoy the movie more than, as I said, the core PW fans. I love the gritty storyline and the whole film just blew my socks off. Very impressed, showing you the other side of Pro Wrestling, not just the glitz and glam of WWE or TNA, shows the people (actual real wrestlers also, look out for Necro Butcher, Ron Killings and loads more), shows people the other part of wrestling, the people who do it for the fans and because they love it.

Well worth of a Oscar.

Much agreed & great review. The 'gritty storyline' as you said was amazing & the way Randy's passion & legacy was shown was really well down.
Great movie, anyone who's thinking about watching it/going to see it definetly should.

Its funny actually, I have a good friend who likes to think he is a know it all when it comes to wrestling, he 'saw this movie', and he told me parts he liked, which were parts from the trailer, but complained that...

you ready?

'There no fireworks or 6 sided ring. They should of got AJ styles to do it'..

I certainly laughed.

You missed our Blue Meanie also features in the movie. I watched it about two weeks ago and shows what happens backstage and how the matches are planned out.

One of the scenes in the movie is ******* brutal. but I wont spoil it for you.
