i commented your facebook status :D
for those who don't know, i guess the academy group just wanted o2 sponsership more. that or they just paid a lot more.
and now like we do with the o2 arena, if you're on o2, you get priority tickets to all academy gigs :)

o2 Academy just doesn't work. But I hope they do some work to the Birmingham one, it needs a good clean.

samesamesame, i've only been to the astoria once, and it was such a ***** to get out of, the only doors open were at the back, so imagine a sold out crowd filtering through double doors, not good, we got started on by a woman that was large enough and loud enough to be a guy :(
but the actual venue is so nice :( i read somewhere they're pulling down the forum in kentish town to, that's also a really nice place for gigs. it sucks so bad :(

Dam credit crunch killing all our venues (I just needed something to blame)

We recently got a really nice venue here called The Assembly, it's actually beautiful and has really good sound. But it has to be said I use Brum Academy for 90% of my gigs, it's such a easy to get to venue.

the astoria is getting killed coz of a new transport system for london :( not because of the credit crunch, it's been open for like 80+ years so its definitely making money :D
