View Full Version : Boys straightening their hair... right or wrong?

I'm not too sure, on some kids it can look cool, but others just do it and screw it right up.

I kinda think that playing around with your hair for more then five minutes makes you either a very disturbed male or a female.

I actually have mini straighteners, I don't use them that often but I sometimes do it. Whats wrong with it? :S

Wayne
07-01-2009, 10:13 PM
I think it's fine, as long as it isn't too long and straight. Some guy on my street looks like a girl because of the long straight hair. It's their hair, they do what they want.

Hazza
07-01-2009, 10:15 PM
The only thing I would say is, if you have long enough hair to do it, fair enough. If you don't, why bother? I know boys that do it for the sake of it - thats a piss take really. :P

Only scene people or people who care too much about their complexion would spend ages straightening their hair really.

Casual

Wayne

LOL before anyone says so, I aint gay nor emo nor anything i have like long hair but its not uber long its down my back its sort of .... cut into my face so when i put a hat on bits come out the side if ya get mee lol xD! I have to straighten it... or i cry, lol xD

Its not wrong at all. Would it be wrong for girls to gel there hair, as boys would spend ages doing?

I dont really care, people that care too much about how others spend their time annoy me.

Kardan

Personally, people can do whatever they want, but I'm not a fan of vain people - nobody's really going to laugh at you for not having your hair straight... I think some people care about others opinions too much.

Casual

i'd straighten my hair if it was curly. but it's not, so i don't. but i don't care if who does what to their hair. unless it looks really really bad.

a whole 20 minutes, good god, that poor guy.
i know a guy that used to spend an hour and a half a day on his hair. i mean it looked ridiculously bad, and totally scene, but still.

i used to straighten my hair, now i just cant be bothered. my sister always done it, and i leave for college before she even wakes up. i cant do it without causing injury :(

Some people look ******s with straight hair e.g The people who straighten their hair just to make it look like a birds nest on their head. Thats the guys btw, the girls can straighten their hair cuz that's their... thing.

Other people who have actual long hair, yeah guys and girls are allowed to straighten their hair like that, I know someone who does otherwise it goes all weird.

Moral of the story though: If you're a guy, 80% of the time straightening your hair actually makes you look a bit gay and a bit of a plank too. 100% of the time I've been right on the gay part... Jeez >_>!

I don't use straighteners. Infact I don't even use a comb (but I do shampoo daily).

If any other guy wants to straighten his hair, I say go ahead, not my problem.

To solve your flicks at the bottom of your hair, get the top layered so that isn't as heavy at the top.

I straighten mine because it looks better straightened :)

That's a good theory, I guess its the same as me thinking ronaldo is a good player. That must mean I support manchester united then.

Mostly northern people such as myself don't associate ourselves with femine ways of looking good such as concealer, straightening hair, moisturiser etc.

I atcually think it's a tad gay.

Nobody wants wrinkles, male or female.

Moisturising will help prevent getting wrinkles :)

Your hair is your crowning glory.

Our hair is one our strongest visual characteristics and is often the first thing people notice about you. So if guys want to straighten their hair, it's their choice, as it must help to boost their confidence and improve their image. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's just an alteration to their appearance, not a permanent one.

Caution
08-01-2009, 07:12 PM
wth? you can't really say whether it's right or wrong. i don't see anything wrong with it, but i personally wouldn't straighten my hair if it was long enough.

Right. Female or male. They have the right to anything they want with their appearance/Body. That includes male's dressing up as a lady.

It's look nice on most male's anyway. :P Some just look like a complete fool with it.

I don't care what other people think of me in the sense of like me as a person, but when it comes to my looks, i feel happier when i have straight hair because i look better. It's not unhealthy for me to think like that though, its just the way i see it.

tbh its no different to girls straightning their hair its just like you see a guy with straight hair you see girls with straight hair and yo see both genders with curly hair or whatever its just another way of altering your image from what you naturally have like piercing your ear

nothing wrong with boys straightening their hair? is there a law which says boys can't? no so what the hell with people saying no, and i bet everyone who said its wrong has short hair! i did then decided to grow it and how much better it looked than a short hair or some gel'd up ****

RandomManJay

I don't really care, and I do straighten my hair, it looks fine when it isn't but the back of my hair gets really curly some days and I hate it when it does that, also with it being long, and having a natural curve, it sometimes gets in my eyes and is better when I straighten it because the ends go below my eyes.

I spend about 15mins doing my hair, yes i straighten it too. If i don't do anything it looks horrid. Takes about 5mins to dry and 10mins to straighten.
Who cares if someone spends ages on their hair? I mean as long as it looks good then its okay. I could understand it being stupid if someone spent like 45mins doing it and it still looks crap though.
