Barmi is an extremely intelligent person, and very likeable with it. He's not big headed either. I talked to him at length when he was applying for University, he has set high goals, and will go very far. I've never spoken with Soka, but reading his posts, he does come across as intelligent.

You shouldn't forget sierk in this, he too is a very intelligent person.

as for the thread topic, i woudn't say i'm intelligent, not wanting to sound big headed but i'm probably academically good - (just got offer to study maths at oxford in 2009 yet i'll probably feel dumb when im there), but not 'intelligent' - it depends what you define as intelligent. Are you basing it on IQ, common sense - because i haven't got an ounce of common sense sometimes lol, or academics?

How can you say you don't think it's you then say you've been offered a place by Oxford to study maths :lol: Even though I think sierk made money the two years or so if I'm right he put in quite a bit of his own money to get Habbox established originally.

Although honored, I have to say I'm not even close to the most intelligent member on here. :P I'd say I'm fairly intelligent in specific area's, such as astronomy, film, media, history and I'm good at explaining how things are put together, what they do, what they're for, and what they are. I'm good at explaining anything really, as long as I have a fair understanding of it, but that's about it. Overall I'm a pretty clueless guy, and tend to switch off and daydream whenever I can. :P

Are we talking academics here or general brain power? Academically for example I gave up long ago because of motivation and just couldn't see the point when I was already doing far better than most others without trying. That did of course mean I later fell from being absolute top dog, but by then I didn't care :P

In terms of understanding and creativity though I pride myself on being well up there - I have a great capacity for poetry and writing (which a lot of the time isn't understood by the people who read it, who just like it because it rhymes or has a pretty word :D) and my debating/discussion skill is as fantastic as .. well, me in general.

I will graciously bow down to the greater academic achievements of many others, so I'm certainly not going to say I'm the most intelligent person to ever live, but let's change this to innate intelligence and natural talent so I can win :P sounds good to me

I've always seen being 'Intelligent' as a good academic. Intelligence/Being Academic has little to do with getting far in life and making money ('Successful') however there is strong correlation that being intelligent will make you more successful in terms of good job and making money, although you can still do well in life if you haven't got good exam results, the chances of you doing so are smaller.

Sir Ricahrd Branston if one of the most successful people alive and if I remember rightly he dropped out of education after secondary school. You don't have to get A-Levels or a degree to be successful, most people who lead a comfortable life have a decent car do have degrees though.

How can you measure one person's intelligence to anothers? Test's and course's are all very well for some people but there are people in my english degree course who would get maybe a lower grade than me in an essay but perhaps excel in another where I dont? Its impossible to judge someones intelligence in all aspects of life.
Intelligence is the general ability to comprehend. Knowledge is the information you know from experience and education. Wisdom is the ability to apply both of these confidently and insightfully to whatever. People are probably better in one of these areas than the others hence smart people who can't cook for themselves and vice versa.

This thread kinda reminds me of the discussions youd get in the voteing threads when people used to do those habbox awards threads for members in a ton of different categories... not been done in a few years as far as i know though :)
