Okay, well im thinking of selling my Touch and buying a 3G and i have a few questions
Can i transfer my existing number to the SIM that has the 12 months free 3G browsing?
How does it compare to other phones - I Love my touch..
Can anybody with one (3G) give me a little review?
Does it have a text limit? (i text alot)
If i bought one in AMERICA and unlocked it, would it work with UK sims with no extra charges? (handsets cheaper in US)

If you have an iPod Touch then there isnt much point buying an iPhone which is the same apart from the camera and the phone features...

I'm giving advice, since the advice is not to get an iPhone then why should I have to answer the questions too?

1. I'm guessing its from another network to O2? If so;
Keep your number
To keep your existing number, just contact your current network provider for a PAC code. Then let us know your PAC code when you purchase your iPhone in-store, or contact us online when you've received your iPhone 3G. Your existing number will be transferred within two working days of us receiving the PAC code. We'll give you a temporary number whilst you wait for your number to transfer so you can continue to use your iPhone 3G.
2. The iPhone is a good phone if you like "touch", if you already have an iPod Touch you will know how great the interface is. Although there can be better phones out there if you like loads of features.
The other questions, i leave for someone else.

Right, here comes an essay. Hope I help you.
Like you I recently had an iPod Touch 1G, and I loved it, and adored it..
I had wanted an iPhone for AGES, but never actually took the plunge, because I heard of all the so called "missing utilities" - i.e bluetooth, mms, video recording, etc.
But after getting my iPhone and researching, you find that there is already stuff out to support these features, and one close to coming out to support bluetooth file transfer etc, you are able to already get apps through cydia/appstore that Video Record, and send and recieve MMS apps, for FREE.
The Safari on there is also amazing, I love it. The best thing about it (i think) is the browsing anywhere on the internet, as with other phones, yes you may be able to browse the web, but not as freely and as easily as you can while on the move with the iPhone 3G.
After three weeks of owning mine (and already going over on my monthly bill :P) I can safely say that I love my phone, and I am so glad I switched from the iPod Touch, Allthough the concept of the two is still practically the same, I think, the difference can not got an BIGGER.
I'd swap if I were you. You will LOVE it. :)
Essay over :p hope I helped :)

You shouldn't buy from another country and unlock it, the world's first unlock software(yellowsn0w) Is still in beta, and I would not reconmend it..
you should pop down to o2, where you'll haev to pay pay and go price or contracted price, on both you'll get free unlimited data. (thats what i've got on mine)
also, if anything goes wrong with your iphone, and it's from another country, apple won't support it.
