We all know that VIP is no longer available for sale, a lot of revenue is now lost. I feel like there are some things that are no longer needed or are un-necessary. I don't know how the billing is done, if it's billed by features or as one no matter how many features it has. I feel like we can do without the following:
-habbox chat, we all know this got old fast and it's original intention was to replace the spam forum lasted at the most a week, and it is never used anymore.
-habbox tv, is it even still around?
-uploadpics, I hate to start this argument up again but I had never heard of it before now. We have tinypic and photobucket plus countless others, I don't feel it is needed.
The intent of this thread is not to start arguments, but to make a suggestion. I'm sure when I look closer I will find more!

Habbox TV doesn't exist anymore and the Chat they paid for upfront, so getting rid of it wouldn't have any finanical difference.

Habbox chat was 1 time payment if i remember correctly, so it doesn't cost em
Habbox TV closed in 06 iirc
Upload pics they want as its their own image server instead of others.

The Habbox chat was a one time payment, I see it being used sometimes anyways.
Habbox TV isn't around still, when it was it didn't cost much money to operate. As I remember, it was on the same server as Habbox.com.
I don't use Habbox's upload site, but other people obviously must be, otherwise it wouldn't be here.

I think a few more advertisements around hxl and habbox could bring in some more money considering the amount of page clicks per day the generate :)

HabboxTV has a link on the navigator as the old TV Series from HabboxTV are being revived and added, that's why its there - though getting rid of it won't make a difference :P

*will have*. :P It's offline for maintenance at the moment. Yeah as the others have pointed out sadly I doubt your suggestions would cut costs substantially, thanks however for your input.

wouldnt be that benefical, a lot of people like me use adblock to block all the ads.

Another thing they can do is delete the thousands of un-active accounts, accounts with less than 50-100 posts that haven't been accessed in more than a year. But just deleting the old accounts that aren't active, or never were active would be a start.
The same goes for threads, I don't if this would mess up the forum or not but seeing as bumping is not allowed, what is the point of having pages of threads that are old and not important anymore? Having a weekly or monthly purge of these threads would surely free up something.
Blogs, I used that feature like twice on my old account. I think the forum can get by without the blogs feature.
Also, why not sell reputation points again? I know it was controversial, but if you need to make money, why not? Reputation points are not premium access so there is no reason Habbox can't sell them. If I remember correctly it was quite popular until the new reputation system came into effect. Also, charge like 10 pounds to un-ban an account? I’m sure some people would do it, and if they mess-up again, the account is banned again? There are a ton of ways this forum can make money besides selling ‘premium access’.
sell vip on 'the sly'
sorted.

There is always somebody who will snitch, but that is a good idea, just call it 'donations' or something and have like 'gold supporter' and 'silver supporter'.

Im not sure about selling REP again but I guess their was a reason for them not to sell it. Also deleting old threads, I dont think their is no need, although you cannot bump threads they are their for a great history archive for everyone to use. And charging to un-ban accounts would never happen because those accounts were banned for a reason. If they mess up again then it could be said that habbox unfairly banned them again after paying £10 which would create a massive uprawr about it so it wouldnt be worth the hassel.

Nothing a disclaimer can't fix. It's not un-fair if they deserved it. If the forum is desperate enough they can make some money by playing dirty.

I totally agree. It would be unethical.

Purging useless accounts wouldn't be a bad idea. But how would this save Habbox money?

Deleting old threads is just asking for trouble...how would that save Habbox money?

David, do you have to troll every thread I create and ruin them with your negative attitude? I don't think so. Operation 'don't feed the trolls' should be changed to 'don't feed David'
