In early 2009, Frusciante stated that: "the official news is just that there's no plans to do anything and we're on a hiatus of an indefinite length. [...] There's just absolutely no plans to do anything and, that's it. Yeah, we worked really hard for ten years and, you know, there's other things in life

I hope to God they dont split, seriously one of the best bands in musical history.

ive known this for about a year :/ and it just means that they have no plans, not that they broke up- a common thing for a band of their age. in fact, they didnt do anything for the first two years between "by the way" and "stadium arcadium," and even said they barely saw each other in that time.

though rhcp hasnt truly been great since californication.

Yeah but they said they were going on a 1 year hiatus and now this.

Stadium Arcadium was really good imo. I doubt they will brake up though.
