Heya,

I'm in search of a Mixer which would be able to work with my computer and Sam Broadcaster.

I also need it to have a "Listen to the computer" feature, so if I turn it up the listeners can hear whats on my computer ie YouTube or SKype.

any ideas?

best way to do this would be a second sound card or a external sound card. Then set skype or whatever on sound card 2 and have that going into the mixer as a line in.

For mixers have a look round the behringer mixers and choose one that you think would be suitable for you.

Slightly off topic but if you want to broadcast what you have got coming through skype you can use Virtual Audio Cables to route the output of skype into your standard Mic. That way you don't have to worry about stereo mix sounds as its just the pure stream from skype.

Ye thats a great way and will work just as good as a mixer.

Dont buy that. Its USB. Any usb sound gear eg that samson usb mic is complete crap.

Dont get me started on USB "Professional" Stuff like mics and mixers. Its so so awful the sound quality is usually poor and you loose like half the functionality of what a mixer or mic is supposed to do.

But you see half of them think its great as it looks pro and is usb but really its not good at all.

I do, and it has satisfied my needs. The quality is excellent and is a far better option, quality wise, then what anyone else has suggested. If you have the mixer then I will respect your opinions, but if you haven't tried it... how will you know?

What you may or may not relaise is i do music technology and also do stuff like concerts ect out of school. That basically means i use stuff like mixers mics alot.

Now the only time i would ever buy a usb mixer is a midi one to alter levels and pan ect in protools. For what he wants it for a USB mixer will not be half as good as a normal one.

You may think the mixer you have is amassing but in my standard for the price which is around £100 i think you can get alot lot better mixer from behringher. Some of behringers even also have usb on them if you want to use it.

Mine is a EuroRack UB 1002 Beringer.

Havent used it much because my condenser Mic has not arrived in the post yet but the review seems pretty good.

What you may or may not relaise is i do music technology and also do stuff like concerts ect out of school. That basically means i use stuff like mixers mics alot.

Now the only time i would ever buy a usb mixer is a midi one to alter levels and pan ect in protools. For what he wants it for a USB mixer will not be half as good as a normal one.

You may think the mixer you have is amassing but in my standard for the price which is around £100 i think you can get alot lot better mixer from behringher. Some of behringers even also have usb on them if you want to use it.

i do agree little with Mystifo i do have few friends who use them and my old school use to have one only because of the way the sound system and lighting was set up only ever used it once mainly becuase i like lighting not sound :D but on the other had you do raise for good point and i do agree with you aswell.

if Mystifo having no real problem then he must be very lucky :P

Ive used the Samson C01U and it really isn't that bad, its perfect for beginner podcasters/broadcasters as long as your competant enough to sort the bass etc...

However the best route would be a firewire mixer, most if not all firewire mixers are fine quality for the uses you need. Then just get a decent condensor mic. http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=PR40 - a bit on the expensive side but its broadcast quality and is just generally really nice.

I don't think the mixer is amazing but I do believe that the quality satisfies my needs and is what he asked for. This is about mixers so I simply suggested the one I use. :)

So I'm confused, what mixer should I get if I want to interigate it with Sam Broadcaster and Skype? aha a few have been mentioned, but which is the best for quality :)?
