Deleting Linux internet browsing history

How can you do it? Also is there a way to keep the internet on private browsing, like you can do on a mac? +rep for answers :)

Linux isn't a browser but Firefox is common on most distros so just press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE and it'll do the job.
