laptop battery problems.

I had this new laptop for Christmas and the last couple of days the charge hasn't been lasting very long.
Now i've plugged it in and it's staying on the same % but yet it says it's charging in the corner.
i've tryed swapping plug sockets etc and took the battery out for a bit but it hasn't worked.
Mom said she will take it back if it's the same tomorrow,
but i was just wondering if anyone knew before my mom goes through all that hastle..

Sounds like the battery is failing or the laptop isn't charging the battery, if it is the battery, you'll notice an improvement straight away with a different one else your recharge circuit on your laptop will need looking at :)
