Hey!

I'm absolutely in love with windows 7 because the RAM is used more efficiently to Vista, the sticky notes are fab for my needs they are perfect, no sidebar is teh sex cos I hate the side bar xD.

It's just all perfect from what I've tried so far. The super bar is better than i thought and the speed of this OS is out of this world.

This will be staying on my laptop for a while!

nop, you can create a partition on your existing drive then run Windows 7 off of that keeping your old OS on the original drive.

It seems much smaller and faster to Vista. The only problem is that yes, the beta is still is quite buggy. I have had 2 blue screens from it so far. And then my mouse and keyboard decided to fail.

I'll look forward to downloading it when it is completely over the beta.

Yeah I'm running one of the prerelease versions on my laptop because I can't be bothered to download another massive file and I've had 3 blue screens so far but the boost in startup time and general speed makes up for it. Taking a while to get used to the superbar, I like playing with the light effect when you run the mouse over one of the items :P

Hm... In 5 hours, I shall of had it for 24 hours. No Blue screen or failures for me yet :) I upgraded from vista to 7, as permanent even if they said not to, because, it's simply amazing.

But the start button looks VILE.

It's so out of place and insignificant. :(

Isn't the start button the same as Vista's? lol

Yeah :P I think its because in vista is sticks out the top of the taskbar and on 7 it's inside.

Yeah, but have you seen the bar?

It suited Vista, but now it just looks like eurgh.

I made the buttons on the bar smaller, so the Start button pokes over the top like in Vista, looks much better :)

Well, it's using less RAM than Vista, a mere 500MB. My wifi drivers weren't found, nor were some of my nVidia chipset drivers or whatever... which was annoying...

Once it's out officially I'll be buying it, looking good.

Dya know if Windows 7 can install itself on an external Hard Drive? I'm really tempted to make the jump if I can...

Hi chris,

I know you have a dell, I was just wondering how did you partition it with your dell system, as all the primary partitions are taken up allready?

I like it. Yes, like. It's fast and visually appealing, however half of my drivers don't work on it which is a pain in the bottom.

When it's finished and out in shops I'll be buying it so long as most drivers work.

I don't have that Dell anymore really. Also I installed it on my laptop.
