Does anyone know if/ when year 9's are getting it?
i heard that we apparently weren't becasue theres a risk some people in the year ave had sex so it wont work, but wouldnt the risk be there in other years aswell as ours?
thanks

Year 12/13's are getting it done in 09/10 I think and then they will start working their way down or wait untill everyone gets to year 11 to give it to them.

You do know its for cervical cancer (preventing) so its for girls only? :p

Yeah, the NHS said something about it being pilot'd in scotland now then 09 introducting it for year 11, 2010 for year 10 etc so you'll get one in the next few years :)

Only certain girls below a certain age can get it because its dangerous if the girl has had sex so my year couldn't have it just incase people have had sex. Not sure what age it starts though or finishes.

This must one one of the only threads you'll find all the girls on this forum :P
Ans no, I don't know because I'm male. I don't see how having sex makes the jab dangerous, anyone care to explain?

They don't know if it's dangerous so they don't do it anyway? Surely you would've thought they'd have tested it on people that'd had sex.

I've had mine already and nothing bad's happened to me? I've completed all 3 and the only problem was that I had a small reaction which caused a bit of itching but nothing else...

ive been sent a letter for mine, and im 17 :/
i think it just depends on the lists and stuff.
it obv isnt only for a certain age, like the year 8s, they were obv just the first ones to get it it

When do year 10's get it or do they not get it?

I beliebe you will be getting it as they were only going it to a specific age group but now I think they have made the jab more avaliable to a wider age group.

"The cervical cancer vaccine should be given to boys as well as girls, to protect them and their future partners from genital warts and cancer, public health experts say."
Sorry if anyone gets genital warts off me, I wanted the jab but I wasn't allowed it.

I don't get it? How is it dangerous to people who have had sex?
Also, I had the opportunity to get mine and turned it down, I'd faint from the needle I'm so scared of them..
