hey guys,
I got a free 30 day norton trial with my laptop but it is running out i have currently got Avg and Norton but i also bought a Norton Disc when i was buying my laptop my question is...
Should i install the Norton Disc or just have Avg ?
The reason i asked this question was because people have told me in the past that Norton slows down your computor so what do you think i should do?
Also i was trying to add a poll so i could choose what to do from the result of the poll but i could not figure out how to do so if any managment could edit a poll into this post that would be fantastic!

Erase any traces of Norton and use AVG, AVG is so much better and it's free.

Sell it on eBay I suppose, it's no use to nobody, Norton is terrible, but I suppose you could make a euro (or whatever the currency is in ireland) and yeah it is.

Norton is absolutely fine and works wonders.
It has never let me down.
And all this nonsense with slowing down your computer is rubbish, go ahead and install it :)

Only problem i have is it picks up tracking cookies, so i wonder whether its so amazing and get rid of anything bad/blocks it or just doesnt detect it.

Norton was terrible for me, updated it every week and it still sat there and did nothing. When scanning my PC I could barely use it and it blocked the flash so that youtube wouldn't work.
Personally, i'd go for AVG or Avast or someone who is free :)

Google "avg vs norton".

Agreed, I had issues with it when I used it as it came free with my computer.

Re-evaluate your statement and Google "avg vs norton".

Norton is horrible and that's the end of it, all antiviruses are peasants compared to the awesome might of Eset's NOD32

do NOT under any circumstances continue using norton, apart from it using loads of system memory, It has a bad detection rate also, You would be better with the anti virus that comes with windows to norton.
If your looking for a good PAID soloution, I would like to recommend you:
1: Kaspersky
2: NOD32
They both have great detection rates, dont use much system memory, and will keep you save online.
If your looking for a free solution:
Avast, NOD32.
Both free soloutions are available at download.com, which is 100% spyware free :)
Have a nice day,
Kevin.

The new norton may be faster, but it will never be better than kaspersky/nod32

Sorry but that's just not true. Read Kevin's post and NOD32 has always dominiated since it was first created.

Yes, AVG is a better choice over norton, glad you have found a solution :)
