Also why are you arcane? It is a PvP spec... if you were that spec in the guild I am in you'd find that i'd make you respec or simply not raid. Elemental (fire/frost) is the way to go for PvE dps.

Naxx is easy epics, considering it can already be pugged by 25 randoms (all bosses except Thaddius and last 2)

Not at all, arcane is pure dps + the 20 points in frost for aoe = insanity. Elemental mages can never keep up with their puny fire dots and frost debuffs.

Judging by your recount, your clearly cannot. Considering I am the mage class leader in a fairly high end raiding guild on my server I should know these things ;) Although in the up coming patch arcane/fire may prove to be the best single target DPS.. only time will tell.

And that Tugawarlord warlock must be doing something wrong. 1.9k dps? our warlock in full 10 man t7 hits 3.5k

Rexo was trying Arcane here in this naxx the other night for kicks, and he managed to hit 3.1k DPS with it, although he said he actually had to pay attention for a change :P

Seems a bit harsh making people in the guild respecc, with tanks and healers it's understandable, but anyone who plays DPS play their own way. Everyone who's playing a DK is screaming that DW with frost is the big thing with DKs atm, but I've stuck Unholy and stayed with my maHUssive sword, and I'm still out-DPS'ing the rogues in plate, despite they're at the same gear level as me.

I never said it did very poor DPS.. just that at this moment Elemental spec does more. Plus 3.1k dps on trash (AoE much?) is not very impressive. Frankly the other DPS in my guild and I do alot more than that on single target DPS (Bosses).

Also making people respec is not harsh. They are hired as a DPS class and if they can do more DPS by changing their spec then they should do so. The other players in the raid are not there to carry other players along...

Yes because the dps for a boss which has a silencing ability is clearly a good measure for dps :rolleyes:. As for mage class leader, looking at the other 3 80 mages in your guild that's hardly something to brag about lol.]

Oh and after 3.0.8, arcane blast is getting seriously buffed, with the 15% damage increase stacked 3 times then an arcane barrage, I reckon it would hit for about 8k crit

i 100% agree with tomm. I freshly dinged 80, got SOME gear, and went to a heroic as arcane. I did 1.5k dps (overall).

I go again as FFB, i did like 2.5k dps (overall). And hit 3.2k dps on a boss (gotta luv heroism).

Just like to put my poinion across of this this arcane spec **.

Currently 0/53/18 spec (Elemental)
This is literally the best spec I have tried.
It IS the best for single nuke bosses and AoE packs.

The only thing that restricts me is the tanks TPS.

I usually top about 8k on trash packs (longer AoE packs) This is gained by popping Combustion, Living Bomb, FlameStrike (Rank 9) Flamestrike (Rank 8) and then Blizzard. Wash, Rinse, Repeat and watch yourself fly up the Recount :)

As for single nuke bosses, its just so simple.

Combustion > LB > FFB
Lozre, you said stacking 3 Arcane Blasts and you might get an 8k crit with Barage.

Thats 7.5 seconds stacking with minimal damage then that bit of burst.
As for Elemenal, its Combustion (if its off cooldown) LB, FFB then Hotstreak! Thats a tidy Pyro crit if you've managed to keep a stack of your Combustion.

As you can see, the gear my lass has ain't brilliant, more or less heroic/10man gear (and a piece of t6 /facepalm) but I can still manage to put out 3.5-6k on boss fights.

Btw, before any of you decide to go Elemental spec, a good bit of crit is required (around 27%)
