I noticed that the coding community is still around and has been for a while and seems to be working well (the support forum that is) so I thought maybe a similar idea for computers in general, to have a team of members to help folk with computer problems aswell :S

I can see why some folk may disagree with this, but I thought i'd put it before as an idea, never know after all.

I certainly like the idea, you see alot of threads like that lately, and I suppose it couldn't do no harm, maybe a trial would be a start :P

lol considering it's probably the most known group on hxf I have to agree.

Let's see how much people want it :)

Keep dreaming. If it was ever created there would be a condition that you were never let in.

Nvr, how many do we need to support it?

If this goes through, don't merge the two C.Cs together, that would suck.

Dave, I think the best way this would work is when Groups are introduced onto HabboxForum. That won't be long, so just create a private group and some details about the group etc etc... The quick fix of doing things, maybe.

Didn't realize groups where getting released actually, like nvr said, lets see the interest, but cheers for the input Ryan.

Well they've introduced alot of little features lately, so it won't be long until they do. I'd like to join it, but I'm not a computer wizard like you guys are... I know my Storage from my Memory, so I guess thats something of a start.

Groups are rubbish anyways and you don't get any signal to show you're in the help group really, so if someone was asking they wouldn't know who was in said group.

Also i think the way daves saying it its not just random noobs clicking "join group" you actually have to shwo your helping and actually having to do work to get a chance, i think thats what hes meaning anyways.

That's why you make the group to invite-only. :P

I know what you mean though, maybe a group would be nice but it's not as efficient as getting Management to make it a usergroup within the forum.

The second bit was at invent from the merging CC thing (im assuming he meant the coders group)

DaveTaylor

It would be a private group obviously.

I don't mean to be negative, but, is it not quite a different situation to coding, as not many people around at of the majority know a lot about it? Whereas loads of people know lots about computers and people know the odd bits here and there that others don't.

If it was created into a group where only certain people could post and answer questions like coding then I think you tick a few people of making it more of a hassle if only a certain few where allowed to answer.
As well, how would you prove yourself and decide the ones that are accepted into the group. That again would cause some tension and unnecessary more hard work of situations.

I can see your point as thats what the doubts I had in my first post however if you look at some of the threads around alot are just try this, it might work, as with for example, nick or stephen will come along and it's an automatic do this as they know what they are doing.

I really like that idea, we quite often see questions posted in various parts of the forum, that could perhaps be better answered by those with more computer knowledge. It's an excellent idea, and I hope something can be created to get this going.

When Alice posts it is because she has a point to make and wants to put it out there. More often than not she makes rational points. But Alice approving of the system isn't an automatic rubber stamp ;)

For one, selection would be rather biased,

Seems kinda pointless to me. Anyone can solve a computer problem and suggest ways to do so, it just depends on whether it is reliable information. I suppose it is a good idea to filter the bad information from the good information, but there are loads of members who have ideas of ways to solve computer problems, which is where the problem of implementing such an idea will come from - too many members to choose. Keeping it the way it is doesn't seem to be doing any harm, infact, implementing it will just make a divide in the community and stop discussions because, afteralll, members can learn from their wrong suggestions and make better ones in the future. Making this group looks as though it will stop people from learning, because they won't have a say and therefore won't have much interest :/

I think it's a good idea, but maybe would cause confusion in newer members?
