Cracking talent defo has potential, couple of weeks ago I was thinking where this lad had gone to, but back from a year injury and scored twice from the bench.
btw, how old is he?

Don't know about his age, but if he wasn't injured last season he would deffo be at a PL club at the moment. I know for a fact that Spurs were interested in him, along with Villa (if memory serves me correctly)

He's 20. He was meant to be the next big thing after scoring a volley against us, when he did nothing all match. I don't rate him.

Obviously spurs would be interested,
I wouldn't mind him here tbh, gives us more width.

Why, we got Carlos Edwards again now, Richardson AND Malbranque can play in wide position. If we do buy any wide players we want better ones, proven PL players and not players who look good compared to the rest of their team.

I wish people would just understand that Carlos Edwards had one good game, now i think hes a cracking championship player, but isn't good enough to take us to the 'next level' hes 30 and he's not exactly going to get in the team over Steed Malbranque once he's fit, as he's probably our best midfielder.

So ok then, we play Richardson on the left, Malbranque on the right, we have a championship standard player in back up incase either of the two aren't fit, so why would we need another one. I know Carlos isn't amazing and no hes not going to set the PL on fire, but as a back-up, average wide player I can cope.

Malbranque would be better in the center imo. He's not much of a wide player, neither is Richardson. Tbh, none of our wingers are wide players.

I suppose. I do think we need a good winger though. With Jones' heading ability, we could do with a few good crosses he could get his head on.

He always seems to be on form, off form, on form, off form and so on. Then again he has been really unlucky with the amount of injuries he's had over the last few years.

Then again Malbranque isn't better in the middle, he obviously played out wide for a reason at tottenham. I agree with Richardson in the middle,
Diouf/Reid should play out wide with Malbranque, whichever is performing in training.

Sunderland, without Cisse or Gordon, are a Championship team.

Cisse has scored 9 goals - you do the math.

You're closer to the bottom than 10th.
I went Saturday and I feel that Sunderland don't have enough mental strength but will stay up because West Brom and Stoke are in this league. One out of Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland will go down. I think Sunderland will be in the Premierleague next year but that could be it (depending on who comes up from CCC).

This is surely a wind up,
I think we have enough mental strength in our team.
If we don't have mental strength then what about Tottenham? They seem to have none.

No, but Tottenham have more than 2 Premierleague standard players.
You lost to a team with 10 men that had literally 2 clear cut chances and 2 goals. Jones can't play football, your defensive line looked frail every time Villa attacked and your midfield isn't exactly something to be proud of. I'd be surprised if Sunderland wasn't in a relegation battle this season.

Then why are they below us in the league at the moment? answer that.
Also Jones is just back from a career threatening injury, just so you know how bad it was.. it was just as bad as Eduardo's although it didn't look the same.
I don't think if Collins, and Nosworthy got injured at the point in the game Villa would of went on to win it, and it wasn't even a penalty.

The same could be said for Spurs against Pompey to be honest. I think that Sunderland have a pretty good midfield, with the likes of Malbranque and Richardson.
