Habbo Says Farewell To Cameras

As expected, Camera functionality is removed.

"It's the end of an era as the official word on camera functionality is revealed.

You've probably noticed by now that cameras have been disabled in Habbo for quite a while. We regret to inform you that after much consideration, Habbo has decided not to restore the photo-shooting functionality on the camera.

This decision has been made because of the way that cameras work in Habbo. The way they save the image makes them vulnerable to scripting and possibly harmful actions inside the Hotel. We want Habbo to be as safe as possible to use and in order to achieve this, camera functionality had to be removed.

If you own a camera and film, then there is no need to worry. The camera will remain in your possession as a regular, non functioning item of Furniture. You have also been given some Credits as compensation for not being able to use your camera the way you could before and for having unused film in your possession.

The amount of Credits you receive depends on how many unused films you own but you must have a minimum of three films in order to qualify for the compensation (this is because the camera used to come with two free films when it was purchased).

We are sorry that we had to take away this popular feature within the Hotel, but would like to assure you that we are busy working on many new features that we hope will be just as popular in the future.

That is the nail in the coffin to rule out old Habbo then, it was about the only older function of Habbo that was good. Photos were great especially when you had a room full. This is the worse thing they have ever done by far in my opinion. They should of just remove the text bit or something, im sure that there coders who will be on thousands a month could find a new solution. What a joke.. Oh btw i got 15 creds but i dont remember how much film i had.

Some people spent 100's of credits on film, it was expensive in the first place,but if they have used the film, they don't get refunds?

I agree. I had a camera, and a couple of film, I think I got compensated like, 3 creds or something? No idea, I didnt check how many I had beforehand.

Also its a shame cos MissAlice had an amazing room of photos dedicated to Hobbas. Had every hobbas name on each photo.

I hope the rubbishy scripters are happy they have managed to ruin a great Habbo function.

My photos are no longer visible, and I had a few nice ones that brought back some fun memories.

I never used the photo feature. I have 1 or 2 photos donated to me but thats it. It's a real shame for people who do use the feature though.

It's lolable tbh, coz habbo are driving the game and all that is worth to old gamers into the ground, soon habbo will only be palatable to 11 year old's who wanna play kick the ugly and wear bacon hair.

How very disappointing. The credits if I'm due any are of no value, the photos certainly are. For me they tell a story, and memories. Although I do understand why they are disabling the camera, I would of hoped they could fix the photos, I have hundreds that will be worthless :(

I was thinking this. Habbo must have something huge to take away such a big part of the community? Well what ever you want to call it but they are gonna get flamed for it. They must have somthing mind blowing going on. Maybe as someone said befor they are doing some sort of room cctv? Or along those lines..

I just wished the thread was labelled "Habbo says farewell..." but not all wishes come true. This is indeed a lame move by Habbo, there are members of their game who have alot of fond memories in their photos and they cannot be bothered to fix this issue (if, arguably, they have the brains to fix it). I do rather dislike Habbo as a company.
