in the sun newspaper yesterday..

that business man that paid 50k for the CR7 numberplate, hoping to make a major profit if ronaldo wants it.
Made me laugh, but its a quality idea.

The funny thing is, hes got it registered to a old crap ford escort lol.

haha, what a stupid 'hit or miss' way of making a profit,

also the numberplate 'CR7' is not on the insurance database, thus not on a car.

if the numberplate is registered to a vehicle it will show on the national insurance database. if it is not on there, it will not be legally on a vehicle.

cars are not fitted with ANPR, it's a system used by the police to do numberplate checks. it stands for 'automatic number plate recognition'

and yes, all insurance companies are on the MID, just some vehicle details are hidden.

If they are processing paperwork for it, it won't be showing as they might have just received the paperwork. The OP said it was sold, so it would be in an unclaimed pool of registrations.

Basically you can't register a plate if it hasn't been assigned to a motor

because it comes up as 'not on the database' and not 'details hidden'.
when you said 'i meant police cars,' wasnt obvious as you said 'that's the problem with cars fitted..'

and yes, i'm not saying the bloke doesn't own it, i'm just saying it's not registered to a vehicle.
