Hey. I'm looking into buying a little moped to get me here and there. I'm just wondering how I obtain a license (CBT) and how much insurance would be?

Thanks :)

You dont have to spend £350 to get a decent moped, a decent moped isnt one that goes 50mph and sounds like a hair dresser its one that gets A to B and not break down

I thought about getting a moped.
I then realised that if i spent £500 on a new bike then id save loads of cash in the long run and i can go faster then 32mph and not be braking the law

Them copys are CR*P Don't last 2 mins! best of getting a two stroke will push 50mph standard if setup right and look and sound much better and last twice aslong if taken care of...

payed 350 quid for my first moped and it lasted me 3500 miles with no bad problems and it still going to this day and my new one has got me 1000 miles with no engine problems :) Chinese copys don't last long, fair enough if you buy them new and ride like a granny you might get abit long out of it

Do the miles rack up when you fall off and it goes sliding down the road :eusa_whis

My 2-stroke 50cc moped had done 12000 miles and when stripped the piston looks new! and like I said had done over 12,500 miles when I sold it and its still going to this day :) And sometimes you get lucky with the copy 4 smokers but it'll not last forever and when it break and cost you more then its worth to fix you'd wish that you had listened to me and got a bike with a real make like a honda or a yamaha the husundias or w.e they call them these days are just cheap copy wannabees with crap engines in that had as much power as a granny scooter and top out at 40 and rust for fun. No offense maybe you got a good one mate but I've never heard a good word about copys and 2 of my mates have owned and really regretted buying one... Up to you what bike you buy at the end of the day, your life and money not mine ;) Just my view

My CBT was £90 or £110 for bike hire.
You need a provisional licence which is £50 or £55, can't remember.
Anywhere between £30 upto £250+ for a helmet, i paid £100 for mine and its perfect.
The bike itself can cost from anything from like £250-£1k+. My first bike was a TS50, 80cc boar kit on it, sports exhaust (forgot make) and some other little things done to it, that cost me £350. But that fu*ked up and now i have a PUG speedfight2 which cost me £900, 06 plate and only had 1000miles on it (?!?) and iv only derestricted that atm, does 45mph with ease AND dose not sound like a hair dryer at all, alot of people have commented me on how much it DOESN'T sound like the other peds. Iv done 7,000 miles so far on this bike and no problems.
I pay £280 for my insurance, 3rd party fire and theft. Its high because the area i live in.
MOT £28.
If you have no one who can do it for free, £20-£40 for a service.
Tax is £14 not £15, but yeah like a pound matters.
Oh and lets face it, if you anything like me your need a new set of tires at least once if you use your bike alot and are going to have it for quite a while, £45ish for each tire.
If your going to get a 2stroke bike, your need to buy oil for it, my oil tank thingy holds a litre and that last me just over a week, but im always out on my bike, £8 for a litre bottle.
