Okay, my internet is being like really slow...
It's not usually this bad though, just yesterday i was downloading a torrent at 250kps. But today, it took me 15 minutes to find about 20 servers on call of duty 4, 10 minutes to upload an image to tehupload, 5 minutes to load bbc iplayer..

Anyone know whats up?

Go to www.speedtest.net/ and copy and paste the image they give you after you've taken the test, should help a little.

if your with BT then it's not just you. Several people have been having issues with BT, sometimes I get a 10th of what I'm supposed to.

Are you or anyone who is using the same internet connection as you using file sharing software such as BitTorrent LimeWire BBC iPlayer etc. or do you have an insecure wireless network?

The other computer hasn't been on, and yes we have an insecure network.
I'll reset the router in a sec see what happens.
I'm with virgin btw, using an ethernet cable which is connected to our wireless router which is connected to our modem.

Someone could be using your router doing whatever business they do on the internet, making your internet slow. This would be indicated by the high ping and poor upload speed. You sure you dont have any file sharing programs open in the background?

Yeah I only use vuze which is currently closed. I just reset the wireless connection and it's a bit faster now, if it goes slow later ill put a password on it. Thanks.

You could be subject to traffic shaping and speed reduction

You should always have a password on it anyway unless you live in the ******** of nowhere.
