Its an ipod nano (one of those ones which look kind of square), I've had it since christmas 2007 and now its starting to go weird.
The touch circle part sometimes doesn't work and often has jerky movement, the buttons sometimes don't work or I have to press them from an odd angle or really hard to make them work, and the screen sometimes randomly goes off or glows a pinky colour.
Its only been happening for the last week or so, could it be that a song I put on is dodgy? Or is it probably just because it's getting old?
I'm sorry about my very limited understanding of technical terms to do with ipods, and I hope I've described the problem well enough for someone to be able to help me, thanks =]

It's just getting old.
Take it into to an Apple store if you can. :)
Not dropped it at all? Or sat on it :P

I would think its just getting old lol, my buttons started breaking on mines ended up getting a new one ya.

My poor baby! I'll find out where my nearest apple store is and if I can take it!
Not dropped it at all? Or sat on it :P
I dropped it once at the beginning of last year and it has a dent in the mirrored bit at the back (annoying when Im trying to check my make-up) but it never affected it.
I would think its just getting old lol, my buttons started breaking on mines ended up getting a new one ya.
If I was to get a new one Id just get a cheaper mp3 player, the new ones are too expensive!

Thats the problem with an expensive mp3 player.

Okay this is pretty darn simple.
Plug in your Ipod and open Itunes and click where your ipod is. After you click it, look for the button that says restore or whatever. Try that. If that doesnt work I would try this:
Just Hold down the middle and left click button until the screen goes black. After it does let go and let it "ReBoot" like a computer.
If that doesnt help you should try this out I picked up off of one my friends:
Hold down the Center and Menu button at the same time.
The minute the screen goes black, Press the LEft click and center button at the same time.
If you have done this right, a green screen will pop up! your now in the Ipods central spot. Be careful to follow these directions:
PLEASE NOTE! IT YOU GO INTO A SPOT YOU DIDNT WANT TO JUST SIMPLY PRESS THE MENU BUTTON!
1.) Scroll down to the TouchWheel Section (To scroll use the left and right click)
2.)Hit the Center Button
3.) You should see Touchwheel ID and WheelAnd Key
4.) Scroll down to WheelAndKey
5.) This is where you test all the buttons and stuff to make sure it works!
6.) Just hit each button in the order:
Menu Key
Next Key
Prev Key
Play Key
Action Key (Center button)
7.) Look at the bottom row of data. It should say what I just typed. If that button is working a number will pop up next to it.
8.) Now test the volume. Just move your thumb or finger on the wheel to the right. Almost all of the numbers: (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9) should turn into a star (*). It is okay if one or two are left out.
After doing that, determine what happened. By this I mean to make a list of everything that didnt turn into a number or a star. If didnt please list it.
If your wondering how to get out of that screen just hold down the Center and menu button and dont click anything! :)

Right so today on the bus it broke completely, it recognised when I was pushing buttons because the screen lit up but it wouldn't turn off or play music or anything.
I got home and read this- tryed the first option of restoring it on my computer and it now works perfectly! Thankyou so much! =DD

I sat on my Samsung KP-K3 :( I got new Apple Ipod Nano Green 4th gen 8gb :) its better that boring old 2gb

Glad you got your iPod fixed ;) and i got mine for 20p Mwahahaha lol won it from Coca-Cola iPod Classic 80GB
