http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=96887 - most common because of 60hz.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=96885 - cheap but doesnt record 60hz.

cant find moderately cheap av splitters on maplins but they are these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000L980MU/ref=s9_subs_c5_s1_p23_t1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0EHWY49MKC4803XH3DNX&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463374953&pf_rd_i=468294

would need 3 of those i think
and av to av cable which could probably be bought in argos or some similar shop.

I think all the above is correct but please dont quote me on it :P

How do I know if I can use the 50HZ recorder

J0SH
31-01-2009, 09:46 PM
Jake you're gonna need different stuff because you've got a HD TV, ask Paul what you need as I'm not sure :P Unless you wanna turn HD off while you're recording which sucks. 50 HZ can't record the latest games, it can probably record Call of Duty 2 and such but not the latest stuff.

Standard Defination Television
[x1] Dazzle Platinum (Platinum records all games, 90%+ of games are 60hz, the normal dazzle cannot record those)
[x3] Phono Splitters (some people call them Ysplitters)
[x1] Phono to Phono Cable (AV to AV Cable rly)
[x1] PC/Laptop

Total Cost - £80 (rough estimate)

High Defination Television - Method 1
[x1] Dazzle Platinum (Platinum records all games, 90%+ of games are 60hz, the normal dazzle cannot record those)
[x3] Phono Splitters (some people call them Ysplitters)
[x1] Phono to Phono Cable (AV to AV Cable rly)
[x1] PC/Laptop

- With this method each time your recording your xbox360 will have to be set to standard defination which imo looks horrible on my 32'' hdtv and also brandon said it looked bad on his aswell.

Total Cost - £80 (rough estimate)

High Defination Television - Method 2
[x1] Hauppauge HD PVR
[x1] Component Cables (you usually get these with an xbox360 or ps3 anyway)
[x1] PC/Laptop

Total Cost - £150-£170

- Personally I find the last one to be better even though more expensive I didnt get a 32'' HD TV just to play in standard defination.

The compoment are the standard 360 cables which has yellow, white & red then it also has like blue, green & something else.

Hauppauge HD PVR: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/7791395/-/Product.html?searchstring=hauppauge+hd+pvr&searchsource=0

The quality of a Hauppauge is amazing.

Bottom right, click watch in HD. It records upto 720p which is all YouTube allow anyway, but it's well better than a Dazzle.

You'll most likely already have the component cables, you get them with a premium/elite, it's the things you plug into your tv? (video - blue, green, red) (audio - red, white)
Hauppauge - http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/7791395/Hauppauge-HD-PVR-High-Definition-Video-Recorder/Product.html

J0SH

They should have come with your 360. Where you plug the yellow white & red in there should be another set hanging down which will be green, blue & red I think.

Better than that, 1080i :)

PaulMacC

1080i isnt really for gaming, just for movies and stuff.
720p is for moving images and fast stuff.

Play.com are crap with delievery. I just remembered my brother ordered a game for PS2 there 2 years ago and it took 1 week to come. Im hoping for the best, they send by Parcelforce and I ordered mine Thursday night. Expecting it Tuesday/Wednesday at the latest.
