View Full Version : Where to look for a iMac
Ok,
So after much persuasion that it 'will help me with my studies' My dad's agreed to look into getting me a iMac, I've seen a few prices on the net, but im pretty sure i've seen them cheaper elsewhere. I mean i dont want the cheapest, i want a reputable company thats been around for a while, but not through the roof prices.

I'd just get it from Apple directly, from there you can customize your specification and generally Apple products are the same price everywhere, give or take a few pounds.

New iMacs are supposed to be coming out, and Apple's currently witholding stock of current iMacs.
Wait a week, then buy one directly from Apple. Here's the MacRumor article: http://www.macrumors.com/2009/01/30/limited-imac-availability-suggests-possible-refresh/
Cheers, im just going to order the 20", 2GB Ram, 320GB HD. This is going to be suitable for also playing PC games such as Call of Duty etc ?

Hold on, a new range of iMacs could be announced within weeks. Seriously, just hold on a little while.

Yeah, waiting a few weeks, maybe even days, could mean getting a quad core instead of a duo core iMac.

Well if he does, there is always the return policy.

I suppose so (assuming the new iMac comes out within the next 14 days).
Anyhow, if he ordered it now they might not ship it until February 5th anyways (I guess they're withholding orders until then, maybe because come February 5th they'll ship out the new iMacs instead).
