Works pretty good :) Tethered isn't too bad.

But yeh it is good to see them finally getting the iPod Touch 2.0 jailbroken, does the faster processor mean apps run better or what?

Apps are running better then I expected, and better then the 1G handles things.

Also it doesn't require as much rebooting (after installing apps, etc) to play games and things of high-memory usage.

It hasn't crashed once yet, the only thing that has crashed was Cydia (once) and the springboard crashed once, but it just starts right back.

I need to compile iRecovery to my own way, so that -s accepts commands from the command line, and I'll have a simple .bat solution to inject the patch that I can carry around with me.

Yeah of course, with a little modification to MobileInstallation you can install any IPA you download.

There really isn't much to the process that you can do wrong, that cannot be restored back to factory defaults.

I've helped about 5 people so far successfully jailbreak their iPod(s) in a short time, and we've never had a problem with any of them.

If something did happen, all you have to do is throw it back into DFU mode, and restore it with original Apple firmware with the "Restore" button.

It's not possible.

It's a mode you must place your iPod in.

DFU = Device Firmware Upgrade.

Yeah it's really slow/doesn't work half the time. Appulo.us goes slow too.

I've just done mine using the tool. Failed first time with error 1604 when I tried to install the custom firmware, but this time it is fine and I have seen the Cydia and Installer icons. Just restoring my backup now, then play time!

Installous gets you the cracked apps directly without a computer or if you want you can SSH into your iPod.

You can boot it into jailbroken mode when it's tethered, but if it crashes or you reboot when you're out, you can boot it into non-jailbroken mode.

Jason, if you want to fix your videos icon download that one then just SSH into your iPod, then go into Library > Themes > picnic.theme > Icons then upload that icon. (it MUST be named Videos.png (with a capital"V")

http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16790053 - there's a thread with loads of icons, all you need to do to add an icon is upload it into icons and make sure the filename is the exact same as the name of the app.
