Indeed :P To be fair, I loved PE when I was 11-14, since the people I was with were alright, and we were split into ability groups - meaning when we played football, I could actually do something. Whereas now, you get the core PE group mixed with the GCSE/BTEC PE group and today we played basketball with a kid who actually plays for Leicester - and it's just pointless, I don't even bother because there's no point.

first half term - we do badminton which is good
2nd - football, but we can only wear shorts and these school tops that are srsly so thin, so everyone hates it cos its literally boltic most times//
3rd - rugby, even colder and now with more mud.
4th - basketball, its alright bit boring
5th - athletics
6th softball
srsly
our school is pathetic.
i dont have to do it anymore though, im in sixth form so instead of 6 lessons a fortnight, its only 2 lessons a fortnight
so im gravey babey.

P.E is just a physical lesson. I personally like P.E as it gets you out of the classroom and gets you active, I've also been more interested in sports I didn't pay attention to; like Badminton, Fitness and Cricket.

I can't stand P.E Either. Not because I'm lazy but because of the fact I have no interest in sport and personally find it boring. I would much rather do other subjects.
I'm not very good at sport (apart from running) but I still loved P.E.

Instead i go over to music and do my music tech folder and i actually get more exercise doing that as i have to walk over the field instead of table tennis were you just stand there.

I hate it so much, my head of year spoke to me about it and I just do private study with laptops for an hour or so when I have P.E on tuesday - amazing :)
I knew a guy who did exactly that. Cod knows how he turned out.
I'm not lazy :P It's just that I don't like the games, e.g football basketball etc, I like stuff like running, proper sport.
Football and basketball are just a "proper" sport as athletics. Why don't you speak with the Head of Department for the subject?
There's lots of people who hate PE, I'm one of them. I'm more academic than athletic :)
I am more academic than athletic, and always have been. And yet I never moaned, asked to sit out, have a free lesson, etc. Whether you jump over your hurdles or ask someone to move them for you... it says a lot about you as a person. (NB: I am making general points here, not personal attacks.)
Personally, I don't feel I am gaining anything knowledgeable from it that will help me in later life. But we all have opinions :)
You learn life skills. At some point you will be in the real world where you have to deal with real people and complete tasks without any choice in the matter. Besides, building up a reputation as a recluse is bad.
Personally, I feel that I achieve better when I'm doing coursework for GCSE's rather than being out playing sport. That's my view, and I will stick to it regardless of your opinion.
There are only so many hours you can put into coursework before you are over-doing it. Do the P.E. and sacrifice an hour or two from Habbo or Habbox Forum instead. You will achieve more by spending your time on coursework and a bit of sport than spending excessive amounts of time on Habbo.
This advice is coming from someone who also cared a lot for his academic work, and is currently the better for it. But this is also someone who realised that you need a balance. All work and no play is bad for you.
And as for doing ample exercise by walking, it's laughable. I don't feel the need to share my whole week, but needless to say it involves far more exercise than I would first expect... all because I saw the benefits way back at school.

I appreciate what you're saying, and I understand you are only trying to help me make the best decision but my choice is stuck. Btw how did that guy turn out?
I try (at times) to be polite, so I will try to give a gentle description. A guy who attends drag parties, brought straighteners and make-up into school, spent years thinking about his sexuality, liked to spend 90% of his life in his room on the computer, avoided P.E. however he could (through 'illness' before he managed to get permission to be excused to play around on computers), and basically did not like to conform to anything by the end of school.
This is a radical example and I am not suggesting you are anything like this guy or similars I've seen.
As long as you are productive with your time and focused, you don't need to justify yourself to us. Schoolwork is very important, but it is equally important that you leave some time aside at evenings and weekends for friends. Even during exam periods, getting out for a while is refreshing for the mind.
Oh, and that reminds me: another benefit of some higher-intensity exercise (compared to walking) is that it can stimulate the brain. If you choose not to do P.E. (which is your choice, and you don't need to justify yourself), I would humbly suggest that you fit some form of prolonged, medium/high-intensity exercise into your week.
