Right, I recently bought a 2G iPhone off eBay.
It's all great except one thing, the speaker..
It sounds like blown sort of, I can't describe it, but it kicks off especially when theres bassey parts of songs.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It's REALLY bugging me.
The only thing i've tried is to get something small and poke the little holes.. but no luck.
+rep to helpful answers :)

I would try taking it to an Apple Store at the Genius Bar and see what they say, is it jailbroken? There is an application that might be on it and you don't know, it boosts the volume to un-safe levels for the iPhone speakers, I forget what it's called though.
Hope that helped! :)

It is jailbroken.. I used to have a 3g, but it goes quiter than that, but it still blows.. I guess its just old technology that they fixed with the 3g.
I don't really have an apple store near me, but even if I did, its been bought of ebay so i'd doubt they'd repair it :/

Just call it the 'iPhone' and 'iPhone 1G' if need be, it is incredibly annoying and confusing. It isn't 2G and has never been called 2G.
The reason the current iPhone is called the iPhone 3G is because it uses the 'Third Generation' network unlike the first iPhone which is simply just 'iPhone'.
The 2G iPhone is therefore the 3G iPhone as the 2G is for second generation iPhone, which uses the third generation network.

I can assure you Jack, the speaker on the iPhone 1G was fine for me, just a little quiet. So, I think the eBayer has sold you a faulty iPhone, I've had the iPhone and the iPhone 3G (Still own it) and the only difference between the speakers is that the 3G's speakers are a lot louder, I haven't ever experienced any of the problems you have. I would contact the seller.
You also said that the Apple Store wouldn't repair it, not true. If you go to the Apple Store, they might charge you, probably a small fee, but they will try fix it there and then, or give you a replacement. As well, if you go to the Apple Store make sure it isn't jailbroken, they won't work on it if it is. It's easy to re-jailbreak and un-jailbreak.

Don't even troubleshoot it or think about it or question it - take it to the Apple store immediately. They nearly always give you a replacement (not sure however if it's the original iPhone)
My dad is on his 3rd iPhone 3G - the first one's vibration didn't work so he took it back and got an instant replacement - no questions asked. Second one had a faulty vibration on it with it vibrating if you touched a certain corner or placed it on a hard surface so he took that back and again, straight swap, no questions asked.
Try it. You'll never know unless you try.
