Dedicated servers also have downtime thats what causes the downtime of the sites hosted on the server

What happens if your ISP messes up? or you modem breaks?.

Its just the same as having one in a datacenter. Id say there is more chance of problems happening in your house then in a datacenter

hes right you dont get any downtime froma dedicated server - well I have never got any. It is very expensive (they usally cost around £69 per month but i got mine for £29 per month :D) but it is worth it.
