I always thought it was quite funny that at 16 you can record yourself having legal sex, but then cannot legally watch the tape due to the 18 age restriction. :P

If you like to have sex with women 18 or older. Else you would be committing an offence under s. 50 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003: 'arranging or facilitating child prostitution or pornography'. Of course even then the 18 year old might breach the same section, if they could be defined as 'facilitating' your 'involvement in pornography'. In other words, don't do it.
As to why you would want to record and watch yourself... I don't quite understand.

Let's not forget that if he bought the porn DVD from a retailer then it would also be violating the Video Recordings Act of 1984!
The Video Recordings Act 1984 is a UK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom) Act of Parliament (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Act_of_Parliament) that was passed into law in 1984 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984).
The act states that commercial video (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video) recordings offered for sale or for hire within the UK must carry a classification that has been agreed upon by an authority designated by the Home Office (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Office).
The British Board of Film Classification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Board_of_Film_Classification), which had been instrumental in the certification of motion pictures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film) since 1912 the British Board of Film Censors, was designated as the classifying authority in 1985 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985). Works are classified under an age-rated system, (see motion picture rating systems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_picture_rating_systems)) and as such, it is an offence to supply video works to individuals who are (or appear to be) under the age of the classification designated.
The act was a legislative reaction to a moral panic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moral_panic) concerning "video nasties (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_nasty)" that was sparked by tabloid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabloid) newspapers in Britain during 1982 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1982) and 1983 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1983).
Sport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport), music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music), religious (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion), and educational (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education) works are exempt from classification under the Act. Exemption may be forfeited if the work depicts excessive human sexual (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual) activity or acts of force or restraint associated with such activity, mutilation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutilation) or torture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torture) of humans or animals, human genital (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genital) organs or urinary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinary) or excretory functions, or techniques likely to be useful in the perpetration of criminal acts or illicit activity.
The Act was accompanied by the Video Recordings (Labelling) Act 1985 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Video_Recordings_(Labelling)_Act_1 985&action=edit&redlink=1), which set out regulations governing the display of certificates awarded by the BBFC on published recordings.
The act was amended in the Video Recordings Act 1993 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Video_Recordings_Act_1993&action=edit&redlink=1) but underwent no significant changes. It was amended again in the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criminal_Justice_and_Public_Order_Act_1994) to deal with the growing issue of "video violence". In addition, the amendment extended the definition of a video recording to any device capable of storing electronic data, which invariably includes works available on DVD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD) as well as CD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_disc) and CD-ROM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM), although the amendment exempts video games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_games) (except if they depict criminal activity which is likely to any significant extent to stimulate or encourage the commission of offences). The labelling regulations were amended in 1985.

Just a thought, Jack... why would he buy his own tape?
case example or it didn't happen. :eusa_snoo
Haha, trust me there are some great cases in relation to the SOA 2003. And I don't need to give case citations for the statute to have authority, fool! :P You have covered the doctrine of Parliamentary sovereignty on at least one of your two courses, haven't you oh little one? Interpretation for my first suggestion wouldn't be necessary; application is straight forward. My second suggestion would require more thought over the mens rea – cue the words 'intentionally' and 'facilitates'.
Oh, and happy birthday again! :)
Edit: It's no longer your birthday, sorry!
