Ok well my original iPhone's battery life doesn't seem to be that strong.
For example, i will keep my iphone on for most of the day, then play a few applications for about 10 minutes or so, then it will drain ALOT of battery.
How can i improve the life? I am currently Jailbroken and unlocked on 2.2 software, and i use themes sometimes on my springboard.
+rep for helpful and not obvious answers.

I think themes could drain the battery quite a bit, as I have a 3G and my battery is horrid when I use themes.

But what you can do is re-lock the phone, get it unjailbroken by restoring the origanal software on the iPhone and attmempt to take it back to apple and see what they can do about it.

I understand but i just don't wanna risk restoring it, and being unable to unlock it again as i recieved the phone unlocked from the previous owner :)
Is unlocking fairly simple to do?

Yes, download quickpwn and you should be sorted.

I fail to see how themes would drain the battery, after all its just REPLACING images.

How often do you reboot it?

I reboot it all the time. It sometimes crashes etc.
I want to get rid of Installer and keep Cydia, but i doubt thats possible.

You should've gone to the genius about this. Turning off 3G service on the phone also helps a lot - If your in an area without 3G then it's pointless.. It'll constantly ping the tower for the 3G signal.

It doesn't "ping" it. It will use more power to keep searching and holding onto 3G signals for as long as it can :P

But yeh, as Nick said, turning off 3G will DEFINITELY increase battery life A LOT, also A-GPS if that can be turned off.

Im using an iPhone original, the "2g" one as people call it.
I don't think you can turn GPRS off?

No, GPS. It should be "Location Services" But I'm not sure if the origanal iPhone has an GPS chip.

No it doesn't.

The iPhone 1G and the iPhone 3G both have crap batteries which will really only survive 13-18 hours of normal use. My friend has one and it's always dead. Get over it or get a SE. They're batteries are really good. Sorry! But FTR, having a jailbroken iPod does drain the battery, I noticed a significant different when I had my iPod touch jailbroken and vanilla.

Can you buy another battery from Apple if it stops? It maybe nearing the end of the life. If this is the case, would i have to restore it so its non- jailbroken and would it cost?

If you're good at taking things down soildering then yes, you could, otherwise just take it back to apple.

I think Apple do it for about £49.
