cheapest place to buy it from? Play.com has it at £154.99 which i can get 5% off so its about 147.50. secondly, can you record from a SD freeview box? thirdly, does it work on vista?

Thanks, help appreciated :)

www.dabs.com I think, it works with 32 bit Vista, if you've got 64 bit you'll need to find drivers online.

Play.com + RAC 5% off is the cheapest place in stock at the moment, believe me because I spent Thursday looking through every single one.

If your freeview box is set up via composite cables then yes.

And Dabs.com isn't cheaper, delivery is 5 pounds taking it to 150 quid.

J0SH
10-02-2009, 05:28 PM
They don't support HDMI cables and it comes with a set of them double ended HDTV cables or whatever, then you just need PS3/360 compoments which should come with your console :P

kk.
10-02-2009, 05:39 PM
i watched a video on how to set it up with a ps3 and he said he had to buy some :S?

J0SH

Hey,

For those who say DABS is not trusted, they are very very trusted. They have a great customer service and are very helpful.

If i remember correct Dabs plc is owned by BT. I have purchased many things from them including Ram, apple wireless mouse and they have all come fine and on time.

kk.
10-02-2009, 06:07 PM

brandon

hey,
bought it :D. now, whats the best thing to convert to? Because when i tried converting to a ps3 format, it said something like encoder failed lol?

brandon
12-02-2009, 06:46 PM
What are you converting it with first of all and for what purpose, eg. to upload to YouTube

Plus, out of curiousity how much did you pay for it? It's gone up everywhere now! 175 pounds on Play.com

kk.
12-02-2009, 07:23 PM
the arcsoft stuff given and for youtube. If there is a better converter then feel free to tell me.
and i paid at play.com, 147.24 or something :D

brandon
12-02-2009, 07:25 PM
You don't need to convert for YouTube, if you don't convert you won't lose any of the quality and YouTube accepts .m2ts files (AVCHD)

kk.
12-02-2009, 07:30 PM
ahhh, ok, but if u keep it as the original file, the file size is huge so will take ages uploading... surely?

kk.
13-02-2009, 04:22 PM

Gotta run as Admin.

J0SH
14-02-2009, 07:26 PM
I followed that, when I ran as admin and ran the patch, I hit activate, I then tried to open Sony Vegas and it just kept saying program has stopped responding, it wouldn't even open. So I had to unistall it and I'm currently installing it.

kk.
14-02-2009, 07:27 PM
still doesnt work. i double click/drag and it has the error:

An error occured while opening one or more files.
The reason could not be determined

i dont know how i got mine to work. I patched when it wasnt open, then opened, generated the keygen, inserted, did the registration, said it couldnt contact the server or something then put in the activation key. Seems to be working lol

Keygens are bloody useless too, when it gives you the second code to use, it's bloody invalid. I guess I'll just have to fork out £40 for it, I suppose it'll be worth it I can't find a way to get full version :(

no offense but $250 to record video games get a dazzle and render decent the and most the time the quality is the same may be a little under but if you can get good render settings your away. Even though I must admit it Is annoying having to remove the HD Cables and switch back to AV when you want to record

PaulMacC
15-02-2009, 09:31 PM
There is a big difference in quality, SD and 720p are miles apart.

yeh but with SD Footage in Final Cut Pro if you got really good render settings you can get good quality for youtube what Im saying is $250 to record video games and put on youtube or what ever your using it for is a bit of a rip-off do you not agree and I agree about the 720p thing cos I play in 720p was just saying

kk.
15-02-2009, 09:47 PM
it depends what you do with it rockstar. If you want to review games its great. I plan to do something more with it than just post things. anyway, you can record anything you want like from sky HD or something and become known for HD TV broadcasting

PaulMacC
15-02-2009, 09:56 PM
I record stuff off my TV also, it's called a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) for a reason.
I hooked it up to my TV's built in PVR so I can now use my TV remote to controll when I went the Hauppauge to record.
