Year 8? It won't be a 'proper exam' it'll just be something so your teacher can see how well you're doing. Try looking at bitesize :)

LOL! Don't worry about it. We had a science test in about November last year and I'm rubbish at science. I bought one of the books they sold at school, read about 20 pages of solid info and diagrams and got A*!

What are you like with exams? Some people get all nervous no matter how clever they are, and they do pretty bad compared to what their knowledge is really like, where as others are really calm and manage to do well in exams because they just blag :P lmao

Basically, when i needed more help with my exams and revision, once or twice a week i got a worksheet or something off my teacher, and done it. Extra homework or what ever you wanna call it :P I made sure i went to see her at break or after school so that the rest of the class didnt notice.

If you dont wanna do that, you can always go on bbc bitesize as suggested above by Kardan. Even if you read back over your notes in your class book once a week or something? I'm sure re-reading or re-doing work n stuff would help you a lot. Practise makes perfect

They don't really determine anything but BBC Bitesize is pretty decent for KS3 revision.

You could read through your book (text or exercise) the morning before the exam, or if it is in the afternoon, during the day so there is less chance of forgetting. Or, as Acqua said, get some extra homework or maybe some old test papers to get you used to the type of questions.

Year 8 aww how cute, there is no proper exam in Year 8, it only detirmines your GCSE sets in Year 9

All you will ever need, also don't worry to much about year 8 or year 9, it's not as important as they say it is.

Is there anything in particular you don't understand/need help with? Or do you understand it all, but fall apart in the stress of the exam? I'm doing physics at university, and if there are any bits you're struggling with, I'd be happy to help.

Yeah ^

I'm pretty sure these are called CATS? or they were at my school when we did them. They are internally marked and is just for you to
1. Practice exam conditions
2. Let your school and teacher see how well you are doing ready for Year 9

It's kind of important as it determines what sets you will be in next year, but it's nothing major. You should only start worrying when you get to GCSE's and you notice you have 0% motivation for anything. :D

Cats were year 7, and if you do badly in the tests don't worry, its just one topic. Next year you'll be split into 3, biology chemistry and physics. You may not be as good at physics (magnetism as ur case) but better at biology and chemistry.

i dont want to patronize but this wont be very serious. it will just show the teacher if you are understanding the work or not. try bitesize because thats really good. i know its boring but i always write up my revision because this helps me remembering it - but i am one of those people who like revising and do it way to much :S
