I have a 140GB Hard drive of which 69GB is used up, but when I attempt to partition it it says its only a 69GB drive and 0 MB is free. I know this is because manufacturers sometimes place files at the end as a "block" but does anyone know how to get rid of them?

Cheers.

Just as a side note, they don't put files there as a block, its the fact computers use the binary system for formatting, and then the manufacturers use something else.

Try a program like GParted, Partition Magic 8 or Acronis Disk Director Suite

Ah ok, I guess someone told me wrong then, it did seem a bit stupid to me. Cheers :)

GParted is what I tried using but it thinks its 69GB. Is there no way of using a disk defragger to get rid of it?

Hm, I think you then choose the wrong things in GParted. It should work.
