Hello Habbox members,
I'm just pissed off with schools blocking games etc.
There is a way to unblock MOST of the sites.
As the computer is just turned on keep clicking F8
A black screen will come up
Click Safe mode with networking
Login or just go on
Tada, the screen may look big but its ok for games...
Np at all :D
Our facility doesn't allow us to run in safe mode. (Without access)
Stephen!

Brilliant Idea, the amount of times i look back and wish i'd done more work and played games less... Granted i managed to come out ok but i had to work stupidly hard to make up for it especially as i continued wanting to play games through college.
Students aren't allowed to play games normally for several reasons; - Sites are blocked not for the fact they have games but because of the contents of some of the games, Games of a adult nature they have to block... however fun you think it might be. Most sites start blocking game sites because students go on them when they arn't meant to, Chances are if you did work at the start of the lesson you could easily make a deal with the teacher to allow you to play a game at the end as a reward.. chances are the teacher will grab at this chance to keep the class under control and learning through a simple reward scheme!
Oh and if you were found to be loading in safe mode (With networking) chances are you'd just loose your login account.
I am however surprised you were able to play games surely with safe mode on items like flash and java wouldn't of loaded properly...

we cant get on anything at our school
ahaa :(
Sometimes its helpful that you can get onto blocked sites, like for IT I need to download a video and put it into a slideshow, so, sometimes it's a bit of a nuisance, though I must admit, I see where Lycan is coming from.
your school have crap security.
On good computers, they've removed the drivers for keyabord and mouse on safemode, so it's immpossible to use itm un;less i physically bring in my own usb mouse.
And why not just download the .swf of games, i do :P

My school monitors us real-time.
We can tell because the screen turns blue.
Someone in one of my classes had run CP and gained access to a student's account and is now unable to do his GCSEs at school since his account was blocked.
or you could do some work
lmao :P

I can get on Facebook, Youtube & Myspace at College. I could even get onto MSN for a period of time... Before they realised I was doing it. :P
Nah, if you want to bypass filters then just google a site and then click "Cached" (located by the site URL). Easiest way of doing it without a proxy imo.
We cant get on anythign at our schools
not even google images.

probably because you type in '.com' more instead of .co.uk :s?
The method that Pyroka was talking about worked at our school i think, then they completely blocked Google :|

I have an iPhone and can just use the WiFi to download games or go on Facebook and Youtube and whatnot :) Its the best.
I do know people who are crazy hackers and know the passwords to accounts that let them go on games and have no restrictions etc... but I cant understand how they managed that.

Thats what me and my mates use ;)
We have restrictions (heavy) and we now have this user thing that tells you what your internet access is such as full, off or restricted by teacher which is basically only sites what your teacher has requested
I used to just put NO$GBA on my USB with like 30gb of DS ROM's and played them, it was my work so they could not delete it from my hardrive, the best they could do was ban me from the internet, I was actually good at ICT so had many days were i sat and had nothing to do as my teacher insisted to work on each task at each deadline and not to go ahead.
There used to be a glitch on my schools system were you could search the directories, and it would give you everybody’s passwords like the technician, so most of the time i would do that and log as a technician and unban people. But the school in the last 2 years updated to RM, so all the new students are not as lucky.
Most proxies don’t work as you will find most of the proxies run on the same server so they just block that. At college I don't play games as much as i did because what’s the point? I chose to go to college to do work, not be an idiot and not much things here is blocked.
Are your PCs all RM or different? Because I will try find all the bugs for RM that will get you around the system. As far as I am aware you can still search the directories and find out who has been banned and whose banning them. :P
Most Japaneese game websites were not blocked so i used to just go on them =]

My School blocks anything remotely non-school related, the other day they were testing to block all new proxies that use https:// but when they blocked the extensions https:// most sites on the Internet were blocked, including google, lol.

our school doesnt monitor us at all. In library today my mate ally managed to get this program on and attempted to get all the registry data out of the pc. Unfortunately the software he used only worked if he was logged in as admin, still, something to do if a teacher leaves the room.
And yeah some sites are blocked pointlessly, like pcpro is now blocked? Weird. But going through google cache works still :D

The most effictive way of bypassing this is to put portable firefox on your usb flash drive, It does not need to be installed as it is portable
Here's portable firefox:

enjoyy :)

A Great plan with just one major draw back. Most to all schools don't connect directly through the internet instead going through proxies which in themselves are what filters your browsing needs. By having no proxy you'll hit a dead end with no way to reach the net. If your school doesn't need proxy settings then you won't be filtered.
To others who post about random things being blocked there is normally a good reason behind it, this is that most ban lists are shared through a central program which many schools use this could be; RM, Viglen etc which could simply mean in another school a student has been on this site rather then doing their work and the class teacher has requested the Network manager to ban the site meaning you all suffer.
There is no real way to get around a filter other than jumping from a webproxy to another web proxy. Most of your Schools, Colleges IT Staff aren't idiots and will have software in place that leads to it being banned.

1 problem at my school is that they've banned anything running from USB apart from certain files like .doc.
My school have banned un-authorised apps from being run, and they have constant watch with search logs for everybody

I got Firefox onto my account and I finally got it working on my account by using the Proxy settings the school uses like you mentioned. It doesn't work with out their proxy settings.
Open Notepad and create a file called hello.nfo and that's it. Open it up and look for Internet Explorer settings, use the Proxy Server it uses and the Port, put them into Firefox for all HTTP settings et viola.
Another fun thing to do at school if you have the time is get into the BIOS, try a few obvious passwords if not, I suggest using 'Backdoor passwords': http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/reference/biosp.htm
It takes ages to get the right one but once you're inside you can do whatever you like to the machine, a friend managed to Overclock the school computer lol.
Edit: For above, portable Firefox will work even though it's unauthorized, because it doesn't leave any trace or need to be installed on the network it's fine to run.

use PTE ~ Page title eraser, you cant see what the person is viewing by the toolbar @ have something educational open over it, switch to that if a teacher is watching you.
My school has blocked the proxy process.
So no proxy's work!

You maybe able to get into the printer settings however if they save the settings on exit, let alone spread across your network is extremely doubtful. Unless of course they are network printers with HTTP pages to which you've managed to change minor settings within.
As i said most / all state (Meaning Public instead of Public schools meaning Private... strange stuff) schools go through a local school proxy which normally has a minor level of filtering shortly followed by a central proxy which has a heavier level of filtering before it reaches the internet but this means whatever browser you use for as long as you use their proxy you will still have the same level of filtering.
The Bios Passwords are true in some cases and are safe guards for Technicians to be able to access the Bios after say a student has changed the Bios password or simply added one for boot.
I Warn you though that a popular tool used by Schools in the UK over the last few years is called Policy Central Enterprise which is created by company along the lines of forensic, This software takes screen shots of students desktops when it picks up keywords and other factors one of which is the word Proxy.
I don't say any of it to discourage you but just to let you know, I find it fun and interesting to see the different techniques employed to get around systems.

My school blocks everything to the point where its a struggle to do work they've blocked out so many windows features.
Jokes on them, we spend more time trying to get into the system then doing work. So it hasnt helped make us more productive!
