Yeah who is it?
I think it's gotta be Freddy Mercury, second place probably MJ but he's nowhere near anything that Freddy was.

Any other people? :)

I don't think you can necessary compare people with complete different genders. There is no doubt the two you mentioned are great singers but for example how can you compare a folk singer with a rockstar because they're aiming for different things!! They might be wicked at folk songs but can't sing a rock song to save their life.

Hayley Willamzzz...

Don't think you can judge the best singer ever, cause they are all good in their own rights, course some are better than others in their own genre's.

if we're going based on power house female vocalists then christina aguilera steals the crown. the likes of leona, beyonce (who i literally adore) and even mariah now don't come close to her standards.

the best performer is beyonce.
vocals, dancing, presence. she's THE all rounder.

impossible to say. completely depends. there's a difference between having a good voice and being a good singer. bob dylan has a good voice. freddy mercury is a good singer.

most of my favorite vocalists are terrible singers.

A good singer is versatile and can sound good singing anything.
Best singers are probably Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin.

Jim Kerr from Simple Minds has an amazing voice. Same with Phil Oakey from Human League.

Patti Labelle deffo yeah, and Mary J Blige will always have a special place in my eardrums.

For males, my all time favourite is Jon Bon Jovi, but Sinatra and Luther Vandross are also just incredible. There really are too many to mention

i think the soul singers have the best hit at this, because they can hit the strongest and longest notes. probably christina because i heard shes one of teh only people who can hit some really high note for over 5 seconds or something.

I agree
Based on vocals not genre, I don't really 'go for' the genre Beyonce does, But her voice is absolutely amazing. That time on X factor was just :O

Leona Lewis has an amazing voice as well but Beyonce definitely.

You mean because they are and/or sound black. Which is why Leona Horseface fails because she sounds like a soulless weak white girl with no conviction.

i actually agree, she lacks personality when she sings, and she only sings good when shes fully forcing her voice, if you know what i mean

Although for females, I'd say Christina Aguilera. Her voice is amazing.

I'd say Elvis was well known and good, as was Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury. I like their songs even though their music is quite old.
