It is currently in Beta, I'm adding features and whatnot to it now. It has a template engine (Smarty), it is modularised (meaning you can edit stuff very easily).

If you know what it is, post away. It has a new name however.

Fair enough. Though being a pretty commonly used function it wouldn't hurt to memorize all of its parameters.

Maybe you should get it out of your irrational mind "hotel user" that being an "expert" programmer means knowing every paramater to a single function, its not.

Programming is about how you do things, the way you stitch different functions together to form a greater outcome. Your arguement is just as bad as someone saying they know every single hex color value for use within photoshop and then putting purple text on a lime green background.

Okay, slightly far fetched but more than the same principles.

edit: changed variable to paramater, silly me ^_^

Bingo! I was just blogging to Johnny about this, programming is figuring what you're going to do, and how to do it. Coding is making it do it.

No offence, but while you two are argueing about whos the best programmer etc, why do you have the PHP date manual up? i dnt get it. ;S

Because the date function is something that is pointless to memorize. You use it often, but not often enough to memorize all of the format params.

There's no use in wasting your time memorizing it, when you can simply look when you need to ;)

I do remember a lot of them actually :).

Fair enough. Though being a pretty commonly used function it wouldn't hurt to memorize all of its parameters.

Welcome to the Design and Development section! Here, you will be eaten, thrashed, and thrown back into the dumpster you crawled out of.

Don't try to act like you're smart.. really.. don't. You're not.

Congrat-u-flipping-lations that you memorized all of the PHP's date formats.. should we throw you a little party, with the pointed hats?

http://www.bilerico.com/2008/01/Party%20Hat.jpg

You memorizing something doesn't make you an "expert programmer" at all, it doesn't make you anything. It doesn't improve you one bit, when you come into this section and say that.. you're still the idiot you are when you walked in.

----------------------

Programming/Coding isn't about memorizing things, or knowing every function and that function's parameters by heart.. it's about knowing how to use those functions.

Using those functions effectively, efficiently, the correct way.. makes you a good programmer.

Just using functions doesn't make you a good programmer also, you also have to have good, very good, logic and problem solving skills.

You cannot just walk into programming and expect to excel in it.. it's just like a lot of other things. There are prerequisites.

Just like you cannot excel in masonry if you don't have the talent to be a mason.. You cannot excel in programming if you don't have the talent of using logic and problem solving. Same with designing, you're not going to be a good designer if you're not very creative.

So, now before you try insulting a good programmer, and stepping out of your little circle, into our big circle.. why don't you get the stick out of your ass, and do it the correct way, instead of acting all big and smart.

Again I say, WELCOME TO THE D&D SECTION.
