Most people have them but whats the point of them?
Decoration? You can't really form a bond with a goldfish...

They're good for kids as I doubt any kid would be much heartbroken if one of there goldfish had died, and also they can learn responsibility by being able to feed them and change their water etc.

Their really for little kids when they want a pet, They get told like No cat or dog you can have a goldfish noone cares if they die so they let the children take care of it.

What most people don't realise is how stunning these creatures are, they are so pretty and colourful swimming around in their tank, especially if you have good lighting. It's also quite soothing to watch them swim around.

My goldfish have been alive a year (:

Well we have 2 ponds outside and 3 fish tanks in our house.

One outside is huge and is full of like £200 per fish lol.

None in my room, simply because i think there pointless and smelly!

So yeah i agree :)

Lol, how do they try to commit suicide? I had 2 goldfish for nearly 10 years and they didn't try to kill themselves once :P.

they're generally a low maintenance fish, popular with kids for this reason, also they're fairly cheap.

I don't see the point in any fish as pets, a pet is something with you interact with in my opinion, something which you form an emotional bond with, and to do this with a fish would be difficult.
