barclay and lloyds are the oldest i think, most established and both founded on slavery money

but like scott said it doesn't really matter lol shop around for the best deal for you, banks always have initiatives to get you to join so you could benefit more from another like a free £25 when you made an account was one in alliance&leicster the other week

Northern rock is fine, its nationalised and its not going bankrupt, theres nothing wrong with it :S

Best for what? If you're under 18 all banks are the same, the only thing you need to care about is convenience. If you want a debit card then see which ones offer that because some banks and building societies won't let you have one without a credit rating.

HSBC. - Least to go bust and actually HSBC has had no publicity regarding the Credit Crunch. Whereas Lloyds TSB has.

Great customer care and patience.

Even if a bank does go bust due to the credit crunch, if you have 50 grand or less you can claim it all back.

northern rock is the best place to put your money atm, as your guaranteed to get your money back in case something happens, as someone put it, nationalised.

so yeah before you start slating someone for suggesting that maybe think?

anddd anyway my moneys with halifax :P dads with HSBC i thinkk (or used to be)
