Got my provisional through the post a few days ago, so going to book some driving lessons, yeah.

So, what did you do in your first driving lesson?

I went to the Downs and went through the basics.

My instructor asked me what I knew about various things in the car and gave his definition and explination of what everything did as we were driving to a quiet, wide road. Then did setting off and driving down the road. Got it up to about 30Mph ish and pulled into the side of the road. Did a u-turn and did the same back down several times.

Went through the basics of where everything is and what it does and then drove down some quiet lanes to get use to it. I can't remember if I did anything else.

got told the basics and how you're supposed to do everything 'properly' - adjusting mirrors and that, drove round local streets then did a bit more busy environments in the horrifically slow 1.5 dci -.-

lol I don't know what car is it :P cars aren't one of my strong points

only stalled one

Had my frist driving lesson today, she was telling me all the procedures to do before actully starting the car

check if the doors are closed, seat is the correct distance, wheel aswell, then check if mirrors are in the right place, seat belt.. umm

then check if the handbrake is on, in nutural..then start up the car..then put your foot all the way down on clutch go into first gear, slightly prehead the engie by pressing the gas a lil bit then keeping it on then slowly lift your foot up off the glutch to meet the biting point then after that check mirror and blind spots if its okay to go if it is (do you have to indicate) then um release the handbrake slowly push harder on gass then slowly lift your foot up off the clutch then zoooooooom

to stoop slowly put put ur foot up off gass then gently press brake then handbrake then clutch then nutral

then to change gears when your on the move take your foot off gas then glutch then put change then put your foot back on gas then slowly let glutch up

ohh my life, so much to remember..my legs went to jelly :P

:D the first driving lesson is always the most exciting. I have been having lessons for 4 months now, and am taking my test soon.

It is a lot to remember, especially all the mirror checks when doing manouvers, but after a while it becomes second nature and you do it without realising :P

It always seems daunting at first but like anything, once you get settled into doing it, it will become really fun and you will be able to enjoy the surroundings.

The Instructors are usualy really helpful to, so hopefully you have got a gud un :D
