Hey

I read that Iphones are 3G and Itouches aren't. What does this mean and apart from phone stuff what does the Iphone have that the touch doesn't?

I wanna get one but an iphone is a lot more costly :p

I've never actually used an iPhone, but I do own an iPod touch. From my understanding, the iPod touch is basically the iPhone, minus any phone features and camera.

3g basically means that you can go on the internet almost anywhere.
The ipod touch doesent have this, so that means you have to be connected to a wifi connection to be on the internet.
3g=internet anywhere
non 3g=internet when theres wifi

In terms of Apple usually *G means that it is * Generation, so the latest iPod Touch is 2G because it's the 2nd Generation of the iPod Touches. I assumed that 3G is 3rd Gen iPhone but, I think it's a 2G with 3G capabilities. Confuzzling ;D

When people talk about the iPhone they are talking about the connection, iPhone or iPhone 3G, not the generation.

When people talk about the iPod Touch they are talking about the generation, there is 1st Gen and 2nd Gen at the moment.

iPhone 3G has phone, SMS, camera and 3G Internet capabilites whereas the iPod Touch doesn't.

No.

3G is just a ultra-fast mobile internet service, offered by most mobile networks. @whoever said it's confusing, how is it, it hardly takes a rocket scientist to know that the 2G iPhone has 3G, if you actually take 2 minutes to look on Google (if you are technologically impaired)

Actually it's 2G as GRPS/EDGE internet is the second generation of mobile signal technology.
