Sounds like you have the wrong cable again, let me make it clear unless you have a HDMI port on your laptop no single wire will carry your video and audio together.

HDMI Port:

If you want sound you need to first look at the back of your TV to see what inputs you have for audio (if any) then we can go from there.

If you can take a clear picture of the ports on your TV and post them we may be able to advise you to what you need.

I had one of them that Jin posted when I was streaming with Dazzle, either it's faulty or you're putting it in the wrong places. It should do the job you're saying.

Depends on the inputs on the TV,

Lets say that that cable is being connected to AV2 but the laptop is connected to teh "PC" port via a VGA cable on the tv then it wont be recieving the input of audio until you switch to AV2. You might be able to change the tv config via its menu to take video from one fee "pc" and audio from another "AV2".

Try and go through the TV menu and see if you have the option to take different sources from different channels.

If not your options would be to connect it to something like your stereo or home theatre system or an external speaker system.

OR

providing your tv has one of these types of connections (PHONO RED YELLOW AND WHITE COMMONLY USED FOR CONSOLE CONNECTIONS LOCATED AT FRONT SIDE OF BACK OF TV)

You could use something like this,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Adaptor-for-VGA-D-Sub-to-SVideo-RCA-Phono-PC-TV-Out-TV_W0QQitemZ170301235513QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Comp uting_CablesConnectors_RL?hash=item170301235513&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1690|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Adaptor-for-VGA-D-Sub-to-SVideo-RCA-Phono-PC-TV-Out-TV_W0QQitemZ170301235513QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Comp uting_CablesConnectors_RL?hash=item170301235513&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1690%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318)

to convert your VGA into a female phono,

and your newly purchased cable and plug it into that port in your tv then you can use a male to male phono to connect the converted VGA port into the yellow port on your TV and the cable I mentioned in my previous post to get your audio.

The red square represents the adapter from ebay,

the black line is the cable which your bought from the shop and the red line would be one of these,

It is a long way to go about it but its the easiest way to get audio and video on your TV.

if you've got a VGA cable then somewhere near the port on the back of the tv for it theres usually a port thats the same as your headphones port. put one end of this wire in that port, and the other end in the laptop headphones port. worked for me
