Hello, I've recently started drinking beer and cider and was caught by my mother 2 days ago and she went crazy and told me my brain is gonna stop growing or whatever..

I sometimes drink a beer here and there and when I go to parties I drink like 3-5 litres of 4,5-4,6%

Is drinking really that bad for me, should I moderate it or should I not drink at all? I'm 15 years old 75kg 183cm

Another Question: Is a smoke now and then really that bad? I'm not addicted or anything just feels good with a drink, that's all..

So, what ya guys thinking?

i think that you need to moderate your drinoing, as sometimes it can get way out of hand.

And with the smoking, i just wouldnt do it as people say ooh Ill only have one, then it leads to an addiction.

I was introduced to smoking in the summer, I've maybe smoked 5 packs in total since then but cant really say I like it except when I'm drinking.. I doubt I'll ever get hooked
A pack a month aint too bad, is it?

One a day is bad. Those adverts dont lie, they are there for a reason. And Drinking, i dont drink, well... if its my birthday ill stretch to 2 beers. And thats really it, i got drunk 3 years ago and i hate the process after which is enough to put me off, smoke stinks and ***** your lungs and other things. It makes you smell and trust me, if you walk into class or something all people can smell is your smoke. Even if you spray deodarent on you. Google smoking effects or the results of smoking and drinking.

Its hard to stop but i did. In year 9 i was drinking and smoking all the time but one day i just said no and thought about my career. Just because your friends do doesnt mean you need to. Its called peer pressure. If they call you a ***** just say yea but ill live longer? They usually shut up.

Oh and you saying you doubt you'll get hooked... your already hooked on alcohol? 5 liters of drink thats 5 big bottles of coke, thats a lot for anyone let a lone a 15 year old. And you saying you only like it when you drink, is just pathetic. you smoke or you dont, not when you drink. Makes no real difference. Your technically addicted to smoking as you smoke when you are drinking, if this is making sense good. If not sorry. But ah well

Drinking is fine if it doesn't happen regularly. Those teens that just get drunk every weekend, will soon realise they will have problems when they're older. Some do, some don't. It depends on the person really. Getting drunk now and then isn't bad, or having just a drink now and then isn't bad either.

I am eactly the same as you mate but what i say to myself is that if it dosn't get out of hand the drinking side of it then its ok every now and agen. Ask for the smoking as long as you dont get hooked n ur not smoking to many a day then its alright to have 1 every now and agen (y)

Yeah, because if you drink and smoke when you're 14 that really damages career chances!

Chyeah, drinking that much a party is pretty normal not alcoholism

And you saying you only like it when you drink, is just pathetic. you smoke or you dont, not when you drink.

again, smoking is quite enjoyable when your drunk, and I know tons of people who woudn't touch a cigarette generally but it goes hand in hand with them drinking, why? Because it's seen by some as a social thing and people are more social when they're drunk.

Makes no real difference. Your technically addicted to smoking as you smoke when you are drinking, if this is making sense good. If not sorry. But ah well

But if you smoke when you're not drinking you're not addicted? right-o (and no, you're not making sense)

To the last red, what i was saying is that he said he isnt but technically he is.

Also, it does because like me, if you want to be a policeman or something, it does physical damage on you.

Smoking is something that people do cos they are addicted not to be sociable. And if you do it to be social your just idiotic and cant make decisions your self.

And drinking that much one day, and nothing for 3-4 weeks does a lot of harm to your body.

this is my opinion so kfnxbi

People smoke as it puts them into a state that they usually cannot find without it. Take a classic street drug, some make them high and excited, meaning that they enjoy the evening more - sure the long term effects won't help them, but at that current point in time the often feeling is that one doesn't care.

Whilst I agree in what you're saying, by that the majority of it do it due to addiction, it is often started due to this sociable state. One may go to a party, where they are introduced to this drug new to them. You see everyone else taking this drug, and immediately feel out of place if not seen taking it, thus resulting in taking the drug and getting this surreal sensation that one has not felt before. It's not long before that person becomes addicted, taking it on a regular basis.

I agree with the bottom part, but some people try to correct opinions rather than disagree with them on this forum

You might aswell just get ****faced & smoke as much as you want, since you don't live as long you won't have to spend as much money.

Win-Win situation.

Drinking at any age can harm you, obviously the more you drink the worse the effect. It can be worse if you are underage.. but I wouldn't worry about it too much

The drinking doesn't sound too bad and is pretty normal for people our age (I'm the same). I'd cut the smoking out altogether however, if I was you.
