OK, Well..

I torrented windows XP. But I'm not sure what it is..

ANYWAY, I created a partition etc, installed it fine and it runs ok (just need to get drivers etc)
However I decided i dont like it LOL so i want to uninstall it?

So i put the disc in again and just deleted the partition the xp was on so i thought ok its gone now, However I cant boot up my normal vista, it said something about there being a problem with booting up bla bla..

I thought maybe its becuase its still trying to boot the new one even though ive deleted it?
However im not sure what to do now, I've re installed the torrent version and im using that even though i have no internet etc just windows on it lol..

How do i get vista backkk!

Boot up into BIOS (keep tapping delete on start-up) and change the default boot-up to your old Vista partition, google that, I'm 99% sure that I've had to do this before...

I looked at that. But i can only access the torrent version of windows which i installed today which means i can only restore to like 11pm..

I have to press f2 to get into bios.
If you mean boot order, i got it 1: Hard drive: WDC WD800BEVS-07RST0-(S1)
2: cd/dvd rom etc

How do i change it to boot up the old partition? on advanced? theres no options

Boot order is if you need to boot-up from a memory stick/external or something, I'm not on about that.

If you can't find anything with the BIOS, definitely try inserting your Vista DVD like Blinger said, and go through the repair function, it should fix your boot up.

Well I can only suggest re-formatting to XP and downloading Vista and then re-formatting again back to Vista...

That's incredibly poor advice.

Download Vista, pop it on a DVD, put it in the drive, boot to it, repair boot drive using that. Or maybe XP will do it through the recovery console, I'm not sure.

Telling someone to format to fix a simple mbr issue is not helping.

As said, you can pop the Vista disk in and do a boot repair to fix it, its got nothing to do with the BIOS or XP.

Not sure about Windows, I think it's only Windows 7 which has that capability.

ImgBurn is a good and free one, simple to use too.

Ok burning one now, Just gotta pop it in my laptop. Will edit this post in about 5 mins!

Windows is loading files.. so good so far..

Now its come up with the windows vista installation, language to install im just gonna follow it.

It said repair windows or install, i clicked repair and its coming up with recovery options, so im gonna repair my partition thing.

GRR it said this version of system recovery options is not compatable with the version of windows you are trying to repair.. try using a recovery disc that is compatable with this version of windows.

Couldn't you just torrent a LEGITIMATE disc rip of Windows Vista from Piratebay or something? then use the repair function through that (if it has one, which I'm sure my old Vista Disc did?) or wouldn't that work?

lew!
20-02-2009, 05:44 PM
Yeah, I thought about that, but does the disc rip of windows vista full thing actually have a repair option or is it just install..
