I like Indie like The Futureheads, Feeder (although they were Alternative when they started) and Maximo Park. I like Alternative like Foo Fighters, RHCP and Nirvana and Punk such as Millencolin and Sugarcult although Sugarcult could also be classed as Pop Punk. But my fav. band is No Doubt and they aren't really rock. They have some rock songs (most of them on Return Of Saturn) but I'd class them as "Ska/Punk/New Wave/Pop"

My favourite bands are Incubus, Rage Against The Machine, Jimmy Eat World, Funeral For A Friend, Bullet For My Valentine, Blink 182, System Of A Down, Less Than Jake, Taking Back Sunday bla bla bla etc etc etc

I like any classic rock from 60's, 70's, 80's and some rock from the 90's. It kinda went **** after Cobain died as Imo, Nirvana were the last "great" rock band. There is still some talent in the music world but less mainstream stuff like Dream Theatre and Tool. I like what little hard rock there is around nowadays, VR obviously and SOAD are alright; especially their old stuff. I personally there's any nice guitar work in any of the chart music we have anymore. The solo seems to have been pushed aside over the last decade or so. Shame really.
